Hacksaw Gaming has proven to be entirely capable of pulling rabbits out of hats. Red Rascal is one of the newest of them, but there are no rabbits nor hats anywhere on the grid. Instead, the trending provider has used its magical powers to open a portal to hell, where a sinister, horned creature has taken over the funhouse. It’s all cartoonish and far from being bloody or so, but the artwork and overall atmosphere are worth the look, once again.

Rascal Respin Mode

Rascal Respin Mode activates when 3 or more Rascal Symbols land on the same spin. They get sticky, trigger a respin with Rascal and Dead symbols only, remaining in position along with all potentially new Rascals. Respins continue for as long as new special symbols land on the reels. During that time, a pendulum at the top of the grid is also active.

It appears at the start of the feature and randomly selects one of two - Coin and Wild. It switches between the two modes, back and forth, with every consecutive respin. If Rascal symbols cover areas of 2x2, 3x3, 4x4, or 5x5, they merge and form Colossal Symbols. If you get a 5x5 Colossal Rascal, you’ll instantly win the cap of 15,000x the bet. After all respins are over, the pendulum activates the Coins or Wild mode.

Coins Mode turns all Rascal symbols into Bronze Coins (0.20x, 0.50x, 1x, 2x, 3x, 4x), Silver Coins (5x, 10x, 15x, 20x), or Gold Coins (25x, 50x, 100x, 250x, 500x). Colossal Coins have minimum cash values and assigned multipliers. These two multiply each other to create the final worth of the symbol:

• 2x2 Colossal Coin - a minimum value of 5x and a multiplicative multiplier of x2, x3, x4, x5, x10, x15, x20, x25, x50, or x100.
• 3x3 Colossal Coin - a minimum value of 10x and a multiplicative multiplier of x3, x4, x5, x10, x15, x20, x25, x50, or x100.

Wild Mode turns all Rascal symbols into wild symbols, and the Colossal Wilds get random multipliers from the same orders as shown above. All wilds are sticky and remain in position while an additional spin is granted with all regular symbols in play. After all wins are evaluated, the Respin Feature is over.

Bonus Game - Ready to Riot

Ready to Riot is the first bonus level, and it requires 3 scatter symbols to turn on. You will receive 8 free spins and another batch of +2 or +4 if you land 2 or 3 scatters during the minigame. Ready to Riot keeps the base game mechanics, but the chance of landing Rascal Symbols is increased!

Red Rascal has a fascinating cartoonish design with sinister motives, like evil clowns and a soundtrack dominated by accordion tunes. The devilish character stands on the left side of the grid and holds a batch of tickets to the fair. The funhouse actually looks like the devil's playground, or at least that’s the picture Hacksaw Gaming is trying to draw. Various kiosks and entertainment elements fill out the base game background.

When switching to bonus modes, the style changes a bit, adding roller coasters and horned buildings. The distinctive artwork puts the game within the usual limits of the provider, adding uniqueness to the brilliant mechanics. The rascal character is making faces most of the time, but unlike Smokey and other Hacksaw characters, it can’t directly affect the results on the grid.
