Survivor is a casino game by Boldplay, a studio that’s never really limited itself to one format. Their portfolio jumps between scratch cards, table games, slots, and newer experimental concepts, often with mechanics that don’t quite follow the usual templates. Survivor fits right into that pattern, as it’s Boldplay’s take on the Plinko formula, and I daresay it’s a bold one. It’s not a straight copy of what’s already out there, featuring something utterly fresh and unique.

Instead of focusing purely on solo drops and fixed paths, Survivor introduces a multiplayer element and structures the gameplay around five different levels that each ball has to survive. This changes both the pacing and the way outcomes unfold, setting it apart from more traditional Plinko-inspired games.

If you’ve played Plinko-style games before, you should know the loop. You drop a ball onto a board, watch it bounce around, and hope it lands somewhere favorable at the bottom. Survivor follows that same foundation, but with some meaningful twists.

What Boldplay does here is mix up several different concepts into one. The Survivor casino game features the core idea of classic Plinko, some elements borrowed from crash games, and a bit of that pinball chaos. The result is a pretty original gameplay.

Each ball represents a single bet, with stakes ranging from €0.50 up to €10 per ball. You choose your wager, release the balls, and let the random algorithm decide their fate.

The further a ball travels, the higher the potential payout becomes, so surviving and getting as far as possible is always the main goal.

Each round lasts five minutes in total, with 60 seconds allocated per level. The first 50 seconds are purely for betting, during which you can release as many balls as you want. The last 10 seconds are where Survivor shows its teeth. A laser sweeps across the board and destroys any balls that are still lingering, so dropping balls too late can backfire badly.

Every level has its own payout value, awarded when a ball successfully survives that stage. Push a ball all the way from level one through to the very end, and you’re looking at a maximum combined payout of 19.7x the original stake. From a presentation standpoint, Survivor is a bit of a mixed bag. The graphics themselves are solid – animations are smooth, graphics look good, and sound effects do their job without becoming annoying. My main issue sits with the interface. On desktop especially, the UI feels cluttered and poorly balanced. Player bet notifications constantly pop up directly on the board, overlapping parts of the action, which gets distracting fast. At the same time, huge portions of the screen are left completely unused, with a small portrait-style playfield squeezed between empty black space, a bet history on the left, and controls on the right. It comes across as underutilised and awkward on desktop, though the layout makes more sense and looks noticeably better on mobile.

There are drawbacks, though. The maximum payout is fairly modest, and the interface isn’t handled well, with too much clutter and a lot of unused screen space on a desktop. Still, those issues sit around the edges. The core idea works, and the five-level setup gives Survivor its own identity. If you want something different from the usual Plinko formats, this one is worth considering.
