Prosperity Lanterns is the first September release for 2026 from the dedicated game developer PG Soft. Once again, the studio honors the Chinese traditions and more specifically the Spring Lantern Festival. This portrait-style online slot comes with polished visuals, cartoonish animation effects, and theme-matching audio. It also offers Prize Symbols and a pair of Hold & Win bonuses.

PG Soft is a mobile-first slot developer with solid experience and plenty of industry accolades on its belt. The company operates worldwide with several top-tiered licenses, including by the MGA. PG Soft secures great maths and is audited by BMM and GLI. Although the provider has been focusing on its “Fortune” series lately, now it’s time to go back in time.

The low-value symbols are the Spades, Hearts, and Clubs card suits, awarding between 0.25x and 5x the stake.

The Prosperity Lanterns RTP rate is as high as I’m used to seeing in the provider’s online slots - 96.77%. It feels great even when mixed with high levels of volatility, while the Hit Frequency rate of 34.01% opens plenty of windows for strategy play. Prosperity Lanterns brings us to a territory many players feel familiar and comfortable with. The base game provides plenty of regular symbol payouts, but no special features whatsoever. Prize Symbols are common and the key to the Bonus Game, but bring nothing on their own. Mini Bonus is random, indeed, and may activate on every base game spin, but you can’t do anything and only wait. Here is what each of the bonus features can bring to the table:

Mini Bonus Feature

Mini Bonus can trigger during the main game randomly when a spin is initiated. It will bring a new screen in play with a 5x3 configuration and row multipliers of x2, x3, and x5, top-to-bottom-wise. Prize Symbols carry cash values from 0.20x to 50x the bet, can land on any position, move upwards if possible, and become sticky.

Each of them will reset the respin counter back to its original value of 3. Mini Bonus will end if you run out of respins or if you complete the board and have 15 prizes in views. Any row full of Prize Symbols will multiply their values by the respective multiplier. All prizes will be awarded at the end of the bonus.

Bonus Feature

Bonus Feature is also a Hold & Win game just like the Mini Bonus, but it comes with an expanding functionality. It will trigger when 6+ Prize Symbols land at the same time in the base game. They carry the same cash values and will remain sticky for the upcoming respins. You’ll get 3, as usual, and the counter will reset whenever a new Prize Symbol appears.

Bonus Feature is played on a 5x3 matrix with initial row multipliers of x2, x3, and x5. Prize Symbols will move upward, and when they fill out a row completely, they will be multiplied by the multiplier, and the total will be added to the prize pool beneath the reels. Moreover, that row will become inactive and will be removed from the grid. A new one will come from below to complete the configuration.

Each new row comes with a higher multiplier, and the consecutive values are x10, x20, x30, x50, x100, x200, x300, x500, and x1000. After the last row activates, no more rows will be added. Bonus Feature will end if you run out of respins or if you fill out the final 5x3 board with 15 Prize Symbols. In any case, all cash in view will be added to the prize pool and awarded after that.

Our Verdict

Prosperity Lanterns offers a fast-paced slot experience with a couple of bonuses and lots of base game payouts. The playground is set nicely with traditional Chinese tunes and melodies, and premium-class visuals. Dancing Lions appear regularly to substitute for regular symbols as wild, while Lanterns contribute to the bonus triggers.

In terms of bonus features, I can see a prolonged pattern of a type here. Earlier, the studio released Farmstead Fortune, where the Mini Bonus is also present. I guess the experiment was successful, as part of the concept has moved here as well. In terms of punctuality, there is nothing major in common between the 2 slots. I also like the idea of row multipliers and Prize Symbols nudging upwards to complete rows and activate the boosters.

Prosperity Lanterns also has a solid Bonus Feature with rolling row multipliers and cash stacking up. The max is x1000, but I believe that with such good fortune, you’ll have reached the win cap of 10,000x before that. The game also boasts a very good RTP rate, 96.77%, so there aren’t really much weaknesses for me to point out in general!
