Collapsing Mine

As usual, cascades or collapses occur after winning combinations have been formed. Each one activates a new row to a maximum layout of 6x6 and 46,656 ways. Once the wild symbols are placed, all symbols above the bar on the active grid zone will explode and disappear. The only exceptions are the Ice Buried symbols, which will be revealed and scatter symbols. A new collapse will occur with the wilds, revealed buried symbols and scatters at hand.

Buried Features

Ice Blocks on the board contain special symbols that can trigger features: Wild, xSplit, Win Multiplier, xHole, Scatter, or MAX. They will be revealed and activated when xBomb explodes near them or are split by a xSplit symbol. Only the Win Multiplier symbol can't be triggered by xSplit.

Win Multipliers will be removed from the grid if a cascade occurs and are affected by xSplit. The possible multipliers in these blocks are x2, x3, x5, x10, x20, x50, and x100. MAX awards the Fire in the Hole 3 max win instantly, but you need to clear all the ice on it. This symbol lands in a 2x2 form, usually at the bottom of the grid.

xHole & xSplit

xHole symbol may appear on any position, and if more than 1 lands at the same time, the symbol size will increase multiple times. Each xHole will draw regular symbols and scatter them across the active grid zone in split sizes of 1, 2, or 3. The xHole will leave an empty spot on its original place and will trigger a collapse.

xSplit symbol affects all symbols on the respective reel by doubling their sizes. Scatters, xSplit, and xHole can not be split! Once the action has been performed, the xSplit symbols in view will transform into a randomly selected regular symbol.

Lucky Wagon Spins

Scatters activate Lucky Wagon Spins, and 3, 4, or 5 of them at the same time trigger the bonus with 2, 3, or 4 active rows. The frequency of natural activation of this minigame is 1 in 231 spins on average. Lucky Wagon Spins is based on the classic Hold & Win, and plates get 3 spins to find Coins, and each landed Coin resets the counter back to 3.

The lucky players who trigger the bonus with 6 scatters will get 4 open rows and a guaranteed Persistent Dwarf in Fire in the Hole 3 game. Our Verdict

Fire in the Hole 3 game was one of the most anticipated slot releases from the Nolimit City fans. Some even doubted that such a game would be produced, given the huge success of the first and second titles. But the 3rd installment is here and will soon be widely available. Moreover, it really brought the series to a new level!

I won't be too excited about the higher max win, although 70,000x is impressive! The game's core mechanics are kept almost the same, but the feature pack and the way those features are combined are brilliant. Indeed, you can expect something like that from a provider that has invented xBomb, xHole, xSplit, and all the other "x" modifiers.

Nolimit City was so motivated by the success of Fire in the Hole in 2021 that we saw another 2 mining masterpieces the following year. Misery Mining and Dead Canary are darker but no less genius and lucrative. So, in short, Fire in the Hole 3 seems to have found the sweet spot, where advanced mechanics meet creativity and the amazing features breathe new life into the franchise!
