Eternal Link Warrior's Empire Review
IGT takes you back to Ancient China in Eternal Link Warrior's Empire, a hold and win-centric slot game that looks to be the start of a new series. The overflowing of gold coins combines surprisingly well with the stoic warrior spirit of this game, complete with a fierce dragon backing our young hero. The soundtrack is not your typical classical Chinese tune either, but still offers a pleasant enough melody to fuel your gaming session.
You start by choosing your preferred bet level, which ranges from €0.20 to €100 per spin in Eternal Link Warrior's Empire slot. There is no turbo spins option in this game, but you can set up autoplay cycles of up to 50 autospins per session. Eternal Link Warrior's Empire plays out on a 5x3 grid with 243 ways to win, meaning you win as long as matching symbols appear anywhere on at least 3 adjacent reels, starting from the leftmost reel. The warrior is the top-paying symbol, followed by the dragon, a lotus, and royals. The symbols pay 0.5x to 1x your stake for 5 of a kind.
The Wild symbol can appear on the 3 middle reels, substituting for any pay symbol to help complete wins. Outside of that, there aren’t any base game features to speak of. Golden and red scatter orbs are collected in the gold pot seen above the reels, and this may randomly trigger either the gold or red Eternal Link Hold & Win bonus round. These bonuses are the main attraction of Eternal Link Warrior's Empire slot and can also be triggered by landing enough scatters on the same spin.

Both Eternal Link Hold & Win features come with the possibility of unlocking up to 4 grids, where you’ll stack up prize and jackpot symbols. Fill a grid to collect the 2,500x grand jackpot prize together with your other winnings. The red Eternal Link Hold & Win bonus features red prize symbols that clone themselves to all the grids. You can also trigger a free spins bonus with multiplier wilds up to x5. Eternal Link Warrior's Empire is a high volatility slot game with an RTP of 96.26%, and the max win is unfortunately not disclosed.
Eternal Link Warrior's Empire Features
There are plenty of details to cover in the feature department of this game, and you can also check the features for yourself via the Eternal Link Warrior's Empire free play demo game. Head to the top of the page to check it out after finishing the review. Let’s get started!
Eternal Link Hold & Win Gold
Landing at least 6 gold ball scatters on the same base game spin or in a bonus round triggers the Eternal Link Hold & Win Gold Bonus. You start with 3 respins, and the counter resets whenever a new scatter lands. Only blanks and scatters land during the feature, and all scatters, including the triggering scatters, become sticky for the duration of the bonus round.
Scatters land with prize values ranging from 0.5x to 10x your stake, and you can also land Mini, Minor, and Major jackpot scatters worth 50x, 100x, and 250x your stake, respectively. You start with one active 5x3 grid, and collecting enough scatters can unlock up to 4 grids. If you land at least 9 scatters on the triggering spin, you unlock 2 grids from the start. New grids are unlocked by racking up enough scatters across all active grids:
- Grid 2 is unlocked when there are 9 scatters in view.
- Grid 3 is unlocked when there are 18 scatters in view.
- Grid 4 is unlocked when there are 32 scatters in view.
The Eternal Link Hold & Win Gold Bonus ends either when you run out of respins or if you manage to fill all positions on all 4 grids. Filling all 15 positions on a single grid awards the 2,500x Grand Jackpot, but this jackpot is only awarded once per bonus round. This means that even if you fill more than one grid, you only win one grand jackpot prize.
Eternal Link Hold & Win Red
The Eternal Link Hold & Win Red Bonus triggers when you land a mix of 6 gold and red scatters in view, and at least one scatter must be red for this bonus round to trigger. You get 3 respins for starters, and the spin counter resets to 3 each time a new scatter lands. Only blanks and scatters appear during the bonus, and all scatters that land (including the triggering scatters) become sticky for the duration of the feature.
Just like in the gold version of the bonus round, you start with the first grid active (unless you triggered the feature with 9+ scatters, in which case both grid 1 and 2 are active from the start). Red scatters land with values ranging from 2.5x to 20x your stake, and you can also land the Mini, Minor, and Major jackpot scatter symbols. These are worth 50x, 100x, and 250x your stake, respectively.
New grids are unlocked exactly like in the gold version of the bonus round, and the key difference between the gold and red Eternal Link Hold & Win bonuses is the red scatter. It’s not only more valuable than the gold scatter, but it also clones itself to the corresponding position on all 4 grids whenever it lands, including locked ones. As before, you win the 2,500x Grand Jackpot prize if you manage to fill all 15 positions on a grid with scatters. The feature ends when all positions are filled or when you run out of respins.
Eternal Pot Feature
When you land too few scatters to trigger a bonus round, these scatters are collected in the Eternal Pot above the reels, which may randomly trigger the Eternal Pot feature. When triggered, the Pot adds 1 to 5 gold or red scatter symbols to the reels, ensuring that you get 6 scatters in total. This triggers either the gold or red Eternal Link Hold & Win bonus round.

Free Spins Bonus
The Free Spins Bonus triggers when you land 3 bonus symbols in view, and these appear on reels 2, 3, and 4 to award 10 free spins. You can retrigger the bonus round the same way to win 10 additional free spins, with up to 60 free spins being possible in total. This bonus round introduces multiplier wilds of x2, x3, x4, and x5, and these may appear on reels 2 to 5. You can land up to 3 multiplier wilds per free spin, and they boost all wins they are part of while also substituting for pay symbols.
Theme & Graphics
The Eternal Link Warrior's Empire slot game features a classical Chinese theme, with an ocean of gold coins floating towards you in the foreground. The gold coins seemingly stack up behind the reels too, perhaps cascading like a waterfall and supporting the Eternal Pot that’s also filled with gold coins. A young warrior in full armor (minus headgear) stands guard behind the jackpot prizes that are stacked to the left of the reels. Behind him, you’ll see a red and fiery Chinese dragon breathing steadily, posing as the warrior’s spirit animal. The warrior and the dragon figure on the reels too, as the top symbols, and are followed by a lotus flower and medallion.

Our Verdict
Eternal Link Warrior’s Empire leans heavily into the aesthetic of Chinese wealth and mythology, but even so, it does not come across as your typical Asian-themed slot. The visuals are less polished than what you may expect from a game like this, and especially the fiery dragon in the background looks a tad amateurish. The warrior himself looks more like a boy than a man, and we are unsure whether this is intentional or not.
The focus on abundance and riches is undeniable, and you’re being showered with gold coins each time a scatter symbol is collected in the Eternal Pot above the reels. Eternal Link Warrior's Empire is the first installment in what may become a full-blown IGT series, with Eternal Link Princess' Empire already in the pipeline for the next release. Looking under the hood, this game also distinguishes itself from most other Oriental-themed games I have tried.
The Eternal Link Hold & Win bonus rounds are clearly the main attraction, and it’s kind of fun unlocking new grids as you rack up more and more prize symbols. Getting all 4 grids unlocked is easier said than done, though, but even just 2 unlocked grids can go a long way if you land some decent jackpot symbols. The red Hold & Win feature takes things to the next level, as red scatters (both regular and jackpot prizes) copy themselves to the same position on all grids.
It’s also generous of IGT to include a more standard free spins bonus, offering tried and tested multiplier wilds to boost your wins. It may not trigger as frequently as the Eternal Link bonuses, but it’s a refreshing break from the more complicated mechanics you get there. It’s only too bad that the max win of this game is not disclosed, but it’s at least higher than 2,500x your stake since the grand jackpot and regular Hold & Win prizes can be won together. With plenty of features and an offbeat Asian theme, Eternal Link Warrior's Empire offers a somewhat unusual Oriental experience.
