The difficulty levels are long gone in this release, and you no longer need to keep tapping the jump button to leap across the lanes. Instead, Chicken X & Friends is all about testing your nerves. You’re taken to a multi-lane highway once again, but this time, it’s all about staying in your chosen lane mode.

You start by choosing your preferred bet level, ranging from €0.20 to €500 per round in the Chicken X & Friends game. Next, you need to determine whether you want to set an auto-cashout limit for your round. If you reach this limit, the round ends and your winnings are awarded. Chicken X & Friends isn’t just another road-crossing Frogger clone looking to cash in on the nostalgia of the instant-win hype. It may look like that at first glance, but Million Games has done some clever things with this release that make it stick out from the crowd. Sure, there are lanes to choose from in this game also, but when you take a peek under the hood, the math model takes a sharp turn into more traditional Crash gaming territory.

Instead of increasing your bet multiplier leap by leap across a dangerous highway, Chicken X & Friends is all about staying power. The bet multiplier increases whenever you stay in the “danger zone,” and you can also try to dodge the cars rushing past by changing lanes. This makes Chicken X & Friends a hybrid between traditional crash games like Aviator and more standard road-crossing games like Runaway Chicken.

Chicken X & Friends also offers more strategic depth than most similar games, with a choice between regular or fast lanes. The fast lane may be tempting, but I would advise against staying down there for too long. Another pro tip is to not go further down the fast lanes. Instead, remain in the lane closest to the safe zone. That way, you can easily leap into safety after achieving your bet multiplier boost. Whether you get hit by a car or not is random anyway, so it’s better to stay one leap away from safe zones regardless of which lane mode you choose.

Most linear Crash games do not allow you to take breaks like you can in Chicken X & Friends, which is an innovative feature I liked. You don’t have to be on edge all the time, trying to cash out before you go bust. You can calmly step onto one of the grassy medians and take your sweet time to consider your next step. Being able to play with friends is also a big plus, and I have a strong feeling that Chicken X & Friends will be popular amongst streamers and other social media content creators.
