True Grit Redemption is one of the games they’ve chosen to revisit – a late-2021 release that felt like a statement piece for the studio at the time, packed with signature ideas and a lot of moving parts. Four and a half years later, the follow-up finally arrives, continuing the same Wild West revenge story with the same cast, but shifted forward by 15 years. Some elements are new, some are gone, and plenty has been reworked. The biggest shift is the core focus. True Grit Redemption 2 is now all about building multipliers directly on symbol positions, and you’ve got a whole toolbox of ways to do it, from enhancer-row modifiers to the various Wild and collector-style effects. That said, some removals sting. xNudge is gone and replaced by xWild, the transformation layer has been stripped out, and the Grit Girl scatter-style payouts are no longer there. More than that, you can’t push beyond 4,096 ways now, because xWays and xSplit are used to juice multipliers rather than expand the grid’s win potential like before.

The max win bump is another mixed bag. Yes, 34,000x is a serious upgrade on paper, but the projected distance to get there is much harsher. Nolimit estimates the top prize at roughly 1 in ~21 million spins here, while the original True Grit’s 20,220x was pegged at around 1 in ~6 million. So, the sequel offers a bigger headline number, but it also makes that headline even more of a long-shot than before.

So, while it won’t necessarily click with everyone who loved the first True Grit Redemption for its specific bag of tricks, I do think the sequel has its own charm.
