Marlin Masters Atlantis is a mythical spin-off slot to the Marlin Masters series crafted by the renowned Hacksaw Gaming. It brings back the famous angler experience, slightly modified and on new terrain. Atlantis is the lost kingdom according to Greek mythology, and the developer seems to have found it. This is due to the fact that the action doesn’t take place underwater, but in fresh air among magnificent building structures, statues, and water pools.

Hacksaw Gaming presented the original Marlin Masters in 2025 in a bold attempt to enter a field that has been ruled for a long time by Reel Kingdom. Despite the negative opinion of some reviewers about the BBB line, they still dominate in the category. Several months after the first title, we witnessed a sequel - Marlin Masters The Big Haul, showing the desire for the provider to evolve in an overcrowded slot niche. Well, I guess, Hacksaw is just being Hacksaw, so let’s check on the 3rd game!

Besides being visually attractive, Marlin Masters Atlantis changes the basics of the series and adds one or two modifications. First, players can now enjoy 26 paylines instead of 14, on the same 5x4 grid. LootLines are still active, and there are two Cash Collect features in the base stage and during the bonus games. The new one is called Kraken Collector and can be pretty awesome if you are a fan of respins and cash.

Marlin Masters Atlantis changes the bonus portfolio in one more distinctive way, removing the Epic Bonus. Marlins, Jackpot Marlins & LootLines

Marlins land with random values from a predetermined set between 1x and 100x the bet. That may seem disappointing at first if compared to the previous slots, but Hacksaw has actually increased the value of collectible symbols. It has added Jackpot Marlins, carrying the following jackpot prizes:

• Mega Jackpot - 500x the bet
• Major Jackpot - 100x the bet
• Mini Jackpot - 25x the bet

Marlins and Jackpot Marlins pay in two different ways: via Fishermen collection and LootLines. In 2025, the provider adapted the Cash Ways concept from the 4 Fantastic Fish series introduced by the UK-based provider 4ThePlayer. LootLines duplicates the slot’s 26 paylines, and if 3+ Marlins and Jackpot Marlins land on any of them, they will pay the total of their cash prizes and jackpots.

Fisherman Symbols

Fishermen may land anywhere across the 5x4 matrix and activate after all payline and LootLine wins are evaluated. Each one carries a multiplier of x1, x2, x3, x4, x5, x10, x15, or x20, and collects Marlins and Jackpot Marlins. However, the multiplier increases the values of Marlin Symbols only. There can be 1, 2, or 3 Fisherman Symbols on every spin!

Kraken Collector

Kraken Collector is a new feature, and despite not being very regular during my slot test, it surely has solid potential. In order to activate it, you will need a Crown symbol on reel 1. After all base payline wins are evaluated, if any, it will expand to reveal the deep-sea tentacled terror creature. Any Marlin and Jackpot Marlin symbols in view will become sticky and stay in their positions.

The rest of reels 2, 3, 4, and 5 will respin to deliver more of these symbols or Dead Fish. The sequence will continue for as long as at least one new paying symbol appears. If the grid gets fully loaded or an “empty” respin occurs, the Kraken will collect and pay all the cash and jackpot prizes in view!

Bonus Game - Sunken Empire

Sunken Empire is the first bonus game in Marlin Masters Atlantis, and it requires 3 scatter symbols. In return, you will get 10 free spins and the Trident Bar on top of the reels. It consists of 4 levels and collects all Fishermen in view during the minigame. On any 5th collected Fisherman, you will level up:

• Level 2 - +8 free spins and Fishermen multipliers of at least x2.

Bonus Game - Pose for Poseidon

Theme & Graphics

Marlin Masters Atlantis moves the fishing theme to a new level, mixing the angler vibes with a mythical legend. The sunken kingdom is a topic of many novels, movies, and even the daydreams of sailors. And it seems that the mysterious empire has occurred on Hacksaw Gaming’s sonar. The setting, however, is not underwater but rises above ground, revealing an almost magical world of white marble buildings, water pools, and divine statues.

It reminds me of Journey 2: The Mysterious Island, starring Dwayne Johnson. A key point in the movie’s plot suggests that Atlantis periodically sinks and rises. Or for the most passionate fans of the legend - C.J. Cutcliffe Hyne’s novel “The Lost Continent: The Story of Atlantis”. Anyway, the slot looks and feels marvelous and is worth trying even if its only for the artwork and smooth gameplay.

It is inevitable to make a comparison between Marlin Masters Atlantis or any other Fishing-themed slot and Big Bass Bonanza. The number of sequels and spin-offs in Reel Kingdom’s series has earned it legendary status. In my opinion, Hacksaw Gaming better captures the essence of modern slot play, but I must respect the fact that BBB set the style, setting, and core features.

On the other hand, Marlin Masters Atlantis is not too different from Marlin Masters and Marlin Masters The Big Haul. There is an extra bonus feature added and jackpots that replace and enhance the most significant Marlin values. LootLines are still in play, just like the Fishermen with their multipliers. Perhaps the lack of modifiers during the Free Spins modes and the lack of a hidden epic minigame are slightly disappointing. Even so, this remains a must-try for every true fan of Fishing online slots!
