Immortal 5 Review

So far, 2024 isn't the best year in the history of the top-tier provider Relax Gaming, but with the Immortal 5 slot they might have a nice ending. The game is scheduled for release in the first week of December, just before the Christmas madness, and it is in time for the studio fans to finally set their thumbs on a solid spinner.

Well, at least those were my expectations before trying the slot, which has its qualities but also a few flaws. First, I must highlight the fact that Immortal 5 is a game crafted in collaboration between Relax Gaming and CasinoDaddy, an iGaming influencer company from Sweden. This is not the first joint venture between the entities, but that's not the focus of this review article!

Since I'm a huge fan of the disruptive type of slots, I couldn't help but notice the resemblance between Immortal 5 and Infectious 5. The second one was crafted by Nolimit City and released in 2021 to become one of the provider's most celebrated online slots. Several huge wins have been recorded so far, including 3 times the maximum (55,555x) and another pretty close shot at 53,744 the bet.

However, the environment in Nolimit City's masterpiece presents the world as a dystopian wreck with very few reasons to stay positive. On the flip side, Relax Gaming describes the world where Immortal 5 game takes place as a modern, even futuristic city and technology significantly exceeding the tools that this slot was built with.

The Superhero theme is dangerous ground, and even branded slots, like Wolverine and Superman, are rarely seen on top of iGaming rankings. In this particular case, the provider has added a couple of bonus minigames with boosters, expanding wilds, respins, and wilds with multipliers to draw the attention of skeptical players.

Immortal 5 comes with a striking design and pure graphics to present a possible future. On the back is the metropolis downtown, illuminated by lights and neon signs against a purple-pink sky during sunset. The thrilling sound effects, splash screen, and background music can be controlled via the Settings menu.

Unlike Infectious 5, Immortal 5 comes with a rather simpler payout mechanics generating only 15 paylines on a grid with 5 reels and 5 rows. Many might argue that the number of ways is low, and it actually is, at least from my point of view, after spending not a small amount of time testing the game!

Technically, Immortal 5 provides plenty of options in the hands of seasoned gamblers, like Bonus Buy, Hero Bets, Autoplay, and Quickspin. The betting range is well-developed and offers plenty of stake limits between €0.10 and €100 per spin. Given the high levels of volatility, a betting strategy would be of use.

The slot machine features 2 wild symbols and each one substitutes for all regularly-paying symbols on the board. Wilds also deliver the highest payouts - 5x, 10x, and 20x the bet for 3 to 5 of a kind. Lines pay for combinations starting from the leftmost reel and continuing to the right.

Five superheroes represent the mid-valued characters, paying up to 20x, 16x, 5x, 4x, and 3x, for 5-of-a-kind combos. The card suits Spades, Hearts, Diamonds, and Clubs complete the puzzle as low-valued figures and deliver less exciting rewards in the range from 0.30x to 1x the bet.

The Immortal 5 RTP is close to the line - 96.10%, but the Hit Frequency rate, although still undisclosed, is relatively low. The maximum wi here looks juicy at first glance - 10,000x the bet, but is lower than expected if compared to other joint projects of the parties involved or the No Limit City's mega-hit cited earlier.

In the base game, Immortal 5 offers several features with significant potential, but you need to be patient as their triggering frequency is also low. The Free Spins bonus is playable in two modes - Silver and Gold, and players can choose from two base features and add 2 or 3 extra boosters!

Immortal 5 Feature

Hero Wilds are wild symbols that expand to cover the respective reel fully and substitute for all regular symbols. The Immortal 5 Feature can randomly activate at the beginning of any base game spin. It will deliver from 1 to 5 expanding wilds with a potential to pay the maximum prize of 10,000x.

Immortal Re-Spin Feature

Hero Wilds also land with random multiplier values, which are additive if more than one of these symbols participates in the same win. If at least one Hero Wild is landed, it'll trigger the Re-Spin Feature. The rest of the reels will respin, and if new Hero Wilds appear, the sequence will continue in the same way.

Immortal Silver Bonus

Silver Bonus scatters may land on reels 2, 3, and 4, and if you spot all of them, the Silver Free Spins bonus will begin. First, you need to activate one of the bonus modes via the Mode Choosing screen:

• Hero Mode 1 - awards 6 free spins with a progressive global multiplier. Its starting value is x1, and it increases with every overlay multiplier symbol during the feature. Hero Wilds also contribute to the global multiplier.
• Hero Mode 2 - 6 free spins with sticky multiplier upgrades. Each symbol position receives an x2 multiplier when it's involved in a win. These multipliers double up on each consecutive participation. If expanding wilds appear, they will collect all multiplier values from the symbol positions on the respective reel.

There are no retriggers in both Hero Modes, and all expanding wilds become sticky and are held on their positions until the end of the bonus. Before starting with the Free Spins, players must choose 2 Power Ups to enhance the upcoming minigame. The same booster can be selected twice, and here are the options:

• Additional Hero Wilds - more expanding wilds are added to the reels.
• Extra Free Spins - +3 extra free spins per pick.
• Multiplier Boost - the global multiplier in Hero Mode is increased. In Hero Mode 2, one symbol position per reel starts with an increased multiplier.

Golden Bonus scatters activate the enhanced Free Spins mode. They also land on reels 2, 3, and 4, and the Mode Choosing screen provides the same options - 6 free spins in Hero Mode 1 or Hero Mode 2. Players can make 2 standard Power Up mystery pick, but also to select 1 Super Power Up:

• Extra Free Spins - +6 extra free spins.
• Starting Hero Wild Reel - one reel is Hero Wild from free spin 1.
• Immortal Transform - one Superhero character is randomly selected, and all instances will convert into wilds during the bonus.

Bonus Buy & Hero Bet

The Feature Buy tool, if available, provides 2 options in front of players who want to buy their way to the win. The first option is to pay 100x the bet and get either the Silver Bonus or Gold Bonus minigame. The second option is to buy a Hero Spin for 500x the bet. It will end with the 10,000x max prize or with no prize at all!

The Immortal 5 slot is also packed with a Hero Bet feature, which also provides 2 options:

• Hero Bet - 1.50x the bet - all base game features are active. An increased chance for landing Hero Wilds and triggering Silver Bonus or Gold Bonus.
• Super-Hero Bet - 5x the bet - an increased chance to land Hero Wilds or trigger Gold Bonus. The other base game features and Silver Bonus are inactive.

Pros And Cons Of Immortal 5 Slot

Our Verdict

Overall, Immortal 5 Relax Gaming is a nice online slot with plenty of features for those players who love to have heavy packs in reserve. However, many of them don't activate very often, even during the bonus modes, which makes the Buy Feature quite risky. The theme is exciting, but it's not so well-developed as in Infectious 5, which I took as a base.

The first collaboration between Relax Gaming and the review provider was in 2023 with the Sloth Tumble release. The adorable Chip character was quite successful, and it was given a second chance in 2024 with the Epic Dreams project. Both games utilize multiway mechanics and managed to attract quite a bit of attention.

Whether this would be the case with Immortal 5 casino game, only time will tell. The hard facts are that the title offers solid features, some of which develop nicely and have a lasting effect. The bonus minigame is also well-crafted, with plenty of options, especially during the Gold Bonus.

The Power Ups are arranged in the same order, so the more careful players can actually choose the instruments to play with. Nevertheless, the payout potential remains mediocre, according to my experience with the title. Therefore, I highly recommend to go through our free Immortal 5 demo before making your final choice!
