Money Plane Game Review

Money Plane arrived in July 2026 and comes from Relax Gaming, the studio behind the Money Train games. This time, though, they left the usual slot setup behind. You won't find reels or paylines anywhere on the screen. You get a plane, a train at either end of the route and a screen full of objects to hit along the way. Relax calls it an arcade-style game, and that description makes sense once you see a round in action.

Before taking off, I could pick from five stages. The first has the old Western Money Train look, but that changes as you move up. Later stages go through steampunk and futuristic settings before heading off-world, and the fifth lands on Mars. That last one has the mining theme used for Money Train 5. It's a nice way of tying the games together without simply putting the usual Money Train characters into another slot.

The plane leaves the first train at 1x and then you're mostly watching to see what it hits. Some icons add +1 to +10, others multiply the value by x2 to x10. Then you have Bombs, which are the ones I didn't want to see. Hit one and half of the value you've collected is gone. Power-ups can turn up during the same flight, with a charger deciding when they come into play.

Once I'd pressed spin, that was it. Money Plane doesn't give you a cash-out button, so there's no decision to make halfway through a good run. The plane either makes it onto the train waiting at the end or it doesn't. A successful landing pays whatever value you've managed to build up. A crash leaves you with nothing, and I even saw the plane reach the train only to fall back off.

The five stages aren't only there to change the scenery. Winning potential goes up as you move through the stages, from 250x to a possible 10,000x. You can try a different stage whenever a round ends, so there's no need to stick with the same one.. The minimum bet is €0.10, while RTP remains 97% throughout.

Money Plane Features

Most of what happens in Money Plane depends on what the aircraft runs into during its flight. Some objects help straight away, others can undo part of a good run, and the power-ups need a little work before you can actually use them.

Number Icons, Multipliers and Bombs

Number Icons are marked from +1 to +10. Hit one and that number is added to the value you're carrying. Multiplier Icons are the better find, especially later in a flight, as they multiply the current amount by x2 to x10. Bombs do exactly the opposite. They cut your current value in half, and there's no way to avoid one once the plane is heading towards it. I found they hurt a lot more after a couple of decent multipliers had already landed.

Charger and Power-Ups

Power-ups don't activate as soon as the plane finds one. The first one switches on the charger, and from there you need to hit four objects to fill it. Once it's ready, another collected power-up can be used. The charger then goes back to zero and the process starts again.

There are four power-ups, and each has its own job:

• Necromancer turns one rocket on the screen into a Number or Multiplier Icon.
• Payer increases the Number or Multiplier Icon closest to the plane.
• Sniper doubles the closest Number or Multiplier Icon.
• Collector collects the closest Number or Multiplier Icon.

These can make quite a difference when the right objects are nearby. Collector was particularly useful when there was already a decent multiplier sitting close to the flight path.

Five Volatility Levels

You choose one of five levels before starting a flight. Moving up doesn't just change how difficult the game feels; each level also comes with its own maximum win and a different environment.

The first stage is the most forgiving and caps wins at 250x. From there, the risk and potential increase until you reach level five, where as much as 10,000x is possible. I switched between them a few times while playing, since you can pick a new level before each flight.

Frequent Flyer

Money Plane also keeps track of the objects you collect. Gather enough Number Icons, Multiplier Icons and power-ups on a particular stage and you'll unlock a Golden Edition of its plane.

Getting a gold plane takes some time. You start with a 1,000-object requirement on stage one, and every new stage adds another 1,000 to that number.

After unlocking it, both versions of the plane are available to use. This doesn't change your chances of winning or anything else about the flight. It's simply an extra design for the plane and a longer-term target to work towards.

Theme & Graphics

The Money Train influence is easy to spot, although the scenery changes quite a bit from one stage to another. The Wild West appears early on, while other levels bring in steampunk machinery, futuristic details and settings that take the action away from Earth. The last stage takes place on Mars, around a mining operation.

I enjoyed seeing the scenery change when I switched levels. There's always plenty happening on screen, with the plane bouncing between objects as the landscape moves behind it, but I never found it difficult to follow the flight. The trains at the beginning and end are a nice touch as well, keeping the connection to the original series without making Money Plane look like another Money Train slot.

Money Plane Free Play

Money Plane free play is available directly on this page, using virtual credits instead of real money. It's particularly useful here because you can move between all five stages and see how much the flights change as you increase the volatility.

I'd try more than one level before settling on a favourite. The Money Plane demo gives you time to get used to the Number Icons, Bombs, charger and power-ups, and you can also make progress towards unlocking the gold planes while you play.

Pros And Cons Of Money Plane Slot

Money Plane feels very different from a regular slot, and that will probably be its biggest draw for some players. I liked having five levels to switch between, although the lack of any control once the plane takes off won't be for everyone.

Our Verdict

Money Plane took me a little longer to get used to than most games from Relax Gaming. There's no reel spin to follow and, once the plane takes off, you can't do anything to change the outcome. The flight reminded me of Aviator, so not having a cash-out button felt a bit strange in the beginning. It works differently here, though, and the whole flight simply plays out after you press spin.

I spent most of my time switching between the first three levels. The lower ones were easier to stick with for longer, while the higher settings could end a good flight very quickly. Watching a decent value disappear after a Bomb isn't much fun either. Even worse is seeing the plane make it to the train and then fall off before the round is actually over.

The power-ups give you something else to follow while the plane is in the air. I particularly liked seeing the charger fill up, as it makes the objects you hit along the way feel a little more important. The Frequent Flyer system is a nice extra too, although the gold planes don't change payouts and I wouldn't play purely to unlock them.

A 97% RTP is one of the better things about Money Plane, and having five volatility settings means you're not stuck playing it one way. The difference between 250x and 10,000x maximum wins is also pretty substantial. I'd use the Money Plane demo to try a few of those levels first, particularly if you're tempted to jump straight to the fifth.

For me, the biggest question is whether you actually want a slot in the traditional sense. Anyone expecting reels, paylines and free spins won't find them here. Money Plane feels closer to an arcade game, with a little of the tension you get from crash-style games but none of the decision-making around when to cash out. At the same time, the changing environments and trains make its connection to the Money Train obvious. It's an unusual release from Relax Gaming, and that's probably what I'll remember most about it.
