Lewis Carroll’s famous story has been explored in plenty of slot games over the years, but not quite like what Peter & Sons have conjured up in Greedy Alice. Get ready to tumble down the rabbit hole and spin the 6x5 reels in a magical garden filled with candy trees and strange creatures. The carnival soundtrack and quirky visuals create a playful atmosphere, but this theme has a darker flair than most Alice installments.

You start by choosing your bet level between €0.2 and €50 per spin, which should satisfy most player types. Eligible players can also turn on the Golden Bet to increase the bonus round chances, but this option is not available in all jurisdictions. You win by landing 8 to 12+ matching symbols anywhere in view, and the 4 premium character symbols pay between 2.5x and 10x your stake for 12 in view. Our Verdict

I’ve been a huge fan of Peter and his beloved sons since their very first release, not least thanks to the quirky and unique visual style and the daringly clear vision they burst onto the scene with from the get-go. Their somewhat dark and twisted take on this classic Alice theme is a welcome addition, but overall, Greedy Alice does not offer anything new or revolutionary. The visuals are decent, but not really the best artwork we’ve seen from this provider.

Of course, you cannot expect groundshaking stuff each time, but the doubling multiplier system is always exciting. The strange candy garden comes alive when you rack up a decent multiplier win, but don’t expect too much from the base game. Sure, you’ll get some okay payouts now and then, but you seldom land more than the minimum of 8-9 winning symbols. A massive multiplier is therefore needed to truly make a dent, but top up wins are quite frequent.

The Golden Bet is not too pricey, but then again, you don’t really know what you’re paying for. This is a problem many providers create for some reason, instead of simply stating the bonus round hit rate with and without the ante bet switched on clearly in the paytable section. On that note, it’s worth mentioning that it can take a while between bonus round triggers, which you may be used to if this is not your first Peter & Sons rodeo.

Landing more than the minimum of 4 triggering scatters is also a challenge, but it helps that you can win extra free spins during the feature. Getting deep into the doubling multiplier meter didn’t seem all that hard in most of my bonus buy sessions. However, it doesn’t necessarily translate to massive wins. Anything can happen when you reach a certain level though, and the 20,000x win cap certainly seems achievable on a lucky day. Greedy Alice didn’t exactly disappoint, but it lacks the wow-factor Peter & Sons often delivers.
