Our Verdict

Ruby Play’s trademarked Giga Match series marches on with another installment. It's similar to their previous Giga Match Sugar Skull, at least when it comes to the feature department. It’s not quite a reskin job since the math model has been tweaked a bit, but overall, the two games can be seen as siblings. Continuing that analogy, Giga Match Egypt is the big brother, despite being born a year later, given the darker subject matter and the more potent multiplier symbols and potential.

It cannot be denied that both installments are heavily inspired by Pragmatic Play’s smash hit Sweet Bonanza, but the Match Blitz jackpot feature helps make these games stand out in an original way. I quite enjoyed the dark atmosphere of mystery you get in the Giga Match Egypt slot, and Ruby Play has done a pretty good job with the visuals and the soundtrack.

Multiplier symbols of up to x500 are a massive improvement compared to the x100 cap you get in Sugar Skull, but keep in mind that the volatility has been dialed up from medium to high. The hit rate has been sliced a bit as well, meaning less frequent wins to keep you afloat between bonus rounds.
