Go High Fruit is yet another addition to Ruby Play’s growing Go High slot series. As the title implies, this one is based around fruits. Let’s take a look.

The game is structured around a 5x4 reel setup, where there are 50 fixed ways for the symbols to create winning combinations across. There, you’ll see a bunch of familiar fruits, including cherries, oranges, grapes, watermelons, and raspberries, as well as a lower lot of symbols, comprised of card royals. All symbols pay from 3-of-a-kind and more, and combinations of five are worth from 0.5x to 5x your stake.

There are also Wild symbols included, which help you achieve payouts by substituting for other symbols in winning combos. More than that, they can create combinations of their own, paying up to 10x the bet.

However, fans of traditional fruit slots won’t find anything to complain about.

Our Verdict

If you’re familiar with Ruby Play’s portfolio, you’ll know that the Go High series comes in two distinct styles. Personally, I find the 3-reel versions much more fitting for the name, where you land arrows to collect prizes from an extra upper reel. That setup, in my opinion, better embodies the “Go High” concept. Try Go High Gallina or Go High Joker if you haven’t already.

Go High Fruit, on the other hand, falls into the 2nd category, alongside Go High Olympus, Go High Harvest, and Go High Gone Fishing. Here, we’re looking at a more traditional Hold and Win mechanic with expanding reels. Sure, the extra rows gradually unlock during the bonus, and technically, you ARE going higher, but it doesn’t feel unique. Been there, done that.

Don't get me wrong – it's not a bad game by any means. There’s still plenty of entertainment to be found. I just find it’s not a perfect match for the Go High name, especially when we already have slots that do it better.
