Full Moon: White King is a visually appealing online slot released by Playtech in August via the provider’s affiliate studio Reel Web. It is established in Australia and is run by professionals with more than 20 years of experience in game design and development. Reel Web has significant achievements in iGaming mathematics, mechanics, and visual representation!

The Full Moon: White King slot comes as a massively upgraded sequel to one of the most popular Playtech's non-progressive slots, White King. The original was released in 2014 and became popular for its Stacked Wilds and Majestic Night Free Games. In 2018, the provider launched a sequel - White King 2.

Both slots so far come with rather poor maths models and 40 paylines. Full Moon: White King is powered by Multiway mechanics generating 1,024 ways to win on each spin. Moreover, the company keeps the same grid layout of 5 reels and 4 rows, which is a clear demonstration of skills and how advanced digital technologies have become.

The active ways are orientated from left to right and start from the leftmost reel. Payouts are for symbols of the same kind on at least 3 consecutive columns. This RNG machine is packed with several tech features - Autoplay, Turbo, and Extra Bet, but lacks Bonus Buy. It's fully compatible with Android and iOS mobile devices, thanks to advanced HTML5.

As the name suggests, Playtech has kept the Wildlife theme and did not try to escape the African savannah. Graphics are much better, which was rather expected, considering the big game in the timeline. The animations and sound effects won't disappoint either, although they are not too lavish.

Such information is missing in the Full Moon sequel, but from my experience, they continue to land that way. Wilds appear as the majestic White Lion and substitute for all symbols, except the Moon scatters.

The paying symbols are also kept from the previous slot versions, and the High Pays are the King's Crown, Lioness, Cubs, and Eagle. I can't say that the payouts are particularly attractive as 5 on a winning way award only between 0.35x and 0.50x the bet. The wild White Lion pays no cash on its own!

The Low Pays are A, K, Q, J, and 10 and award 0.05x, 0.10x, and 0.25x the bet for 3, 4, or 5 on a way. All that might seem scarce, but remember that the Multiway slots pay in bulk, and this one, in particular, is packed with some pretty rewarding bonus features.

Full Moon: White King is packed with a wide betting range and supports 23 stake levels between €0.20 and €300 per spin. That ranks the slot in at least several categories, including such that could be attractive to strategy experts and high rollers. However, the second group might feel slightly disappointed due to the lack of a progressive jackpot.

The Full Moon: White King RTP remains below the usual average - 95.73%, but it's much higher compared with the two prequels - 90.05% and 91.40%. Levels of volatility are high based on my experience with the game, although official information from the studio is missing. The max win isn't changed either - 1,000x the bet or up to €300,000.

Moon Symbols

Scatters play a major role in the game, and you will find 4 types of Moon symbols on the reels. Cash Moon carries a cash value of 0.50x, 1x, 2.50x, 5x, or 7.50x the total bet. Multiplier Moon is loaded with win multipliers of 2x, 3x, 4x, 5x, or 10x, which are applicable on the Cash Moon scatters.

Blood Moon has no role in the base game, but it can be used for triggering the Moon Collect minigame. Bonus Moon contains a Paw symbol, and it will reveal one of the featured fixed jackpots:

Whenever any Moon symbol lands on the grid, it becomes sticky for the next round. If new scatters land, all are held on their positions for the upcoming spin again. If no new Moon symbols appear, those in view will move one position down on the grid until they fall out.

Moon Collect Bonus

A combination of or more Cash Moon and Multiplier Moon symbols activate the feature. Multipliers increase the cash values in view, and the respective symbols transform into a 0.50x prize. Cash Moon scatters have a value cap of 1,000x the bet. All prizes in view are then collected and removed from the grid for the next spin.

Moon Push Feature

Six or more Moon symbols, with the participation of at least one Blood Moon or Bonu Moon activate the special minigame. It's a standard Hold & Win bonus played on a 5x4 grid with 3 resettable respins. All Moon symbols that have triggered the bonus are held in their positions, and the game begins.

All symbols nudge one position down per respin, and the Cash Moons that appear in the bottom row are collected. Before that, they will be multiplied by the Multiplier Moons, if any. Bonus Moons will reveal a jackpot and pay it when it hits the bottom row, but these prizes are not affected by multipliers.

Blood Moon in the active row will reset the respin counter back to 3. You will find out that the Hit Frequency during the bonus is much higher. The minigame will end when the counter hits 0, or the max win is won.

Honestly, Full Moon: White King is a bit less than I expected, but the quality is undoubted. The removal of Free Spins can be disappointing for fans of the original, but the new stuff is compensating fairly. I also like the changed payout system, and it seems to work excellently, kicking the RTP much higher.

Playtech is quite productive in 2024, mainly through its Australian and UK studios, but so are other top iGaming studios. And it looks like there is no shortage of amazing Wildlife slots!
