Here is my favorite part - visuals and sound. For me, slots are candy, and no matter how tasty they are, it is the pretty wrapper that attracts my attention and makes up half of the experience of the game. And here I have to give Slotmill credit - they managed to attract my attention from the start. Yeah, I admit that grimdark settings are my soft spot. Emberfall invites players to a dark fantasy world full of dragons and treasures. Still, these overgrown lizards are not willing to give their treasure away for nothing and will try to burn any hapless adventurer to a crisp. The backdrop features ashen land where one wrong step will cost You your life. While the symbols are not particularly original, they are done to a decent level, especially the basic gem symbols. Animations are fluid, breathing life into the screen, and the dragon during FS is awfully majestic. Still, it was the sound design that still stole the lead. Game sounds are weighty, they perfectly create a pressing atmosphere. I can't even find the right words for the OST. It's just fantastic! Drums, trumpets, and chants are perfectly composed completing the mood. Honestly, that sound would fit perfectly in Diablo or Warhammer (just don't smite me with your righteous anger, GW).
