Dead By Noon Review
Another brief pause from the Le slots conveyor belt, and this time developer Hacksaw Gaming rolls out Dead by Noon – an intense, action-packed Western with a few really interesting mechanics.
The midday sun blazes across the town, drawing sweat from your brow and setting your blood boiling. The air is thick with anticipation. Your fingers itch near the twin irons strapped to your hips. In this one street town, every spin is a duel between victory and death.
Dead by Noon
Hacksaw Gaming

That’s the pretentious premise Hacksaw Gaming gives us, and the game backs it up visually. Dead by Noon looks totally sick. It has that harsh, sun-scorched Western atmosphere where everything feels so tense it's one wrong look away from turning into a bloody shootout.
We have a badass character standing on the left side of the screen, an outlaw pointing a pistol straight at the player, almost as if the viewer is on their knees begging for mercy. This fella makes a return from the Duel at Dawn slot – we’ve seen him before in the exact same way, and the man hasn’t aged a day (nor moved a finger).
The drawing style is very much in line with that release, as well as other grim Wild West games from Hacksaw, such as 2 Wild 2 Die and Bullets & Bounty. The reels sit in front of a deserted frontier town, with a windmill, bank building, rocky cliffs, and that harsh midday light doing a lot of work for the mood.

Hacksaw has proven a few times already that they know how to create a rough, unforgiving Western vibe, and the Dead by Noon slot machine does it masterfully again. It’s not a cheerful cowboy adventure. It’s tougher, meaner, and much more cinematic.
Now that the visual aspect is covered, let’s take a peek under the hood. Dead by Noon plays on a 5x4 grid with 14 ways to win, which is a setup Hacksaw Gaming is fairly fond of. Symbols pay from left to right, starting from at least 3 matching instances.
The paytable consists of four lower-paying card suit symbols, all paying 1x the stake for five-of-a-kind wins. Then we have five premium symbols – wheels, skulls, hats, guns, and sheriff badges – awarding from 2x to 5x the stake for full five-symbol combinations.
Wilds are also in the mix and can appear on any reel. They substitute for regular paying symbols and pay equally to the highest-paying regular symbol when forming their own five-symbol combinations. It’s also worth mentioning that Wilds are not exactly elusive here. On the contrary, you’ll see plenty of them on the reels, as they pop up quite frequently and play a major role in building momentum.
Spinning the reels is possible with anything from €0.10 to €100 per spin. Dead by Noon has a highly volatile profile, rated 5 out of 5 by the developers, not that we expected anything softer given the tough Western theme. The RTP comes in four different settings, with 96.27% being the highest available version. With that configuration, the hit rate clocks in at 21.94%.
Special Features & Bonuses
Dead by Noon revolves around an innovative multiplier mechanic, which is the primary tool for achieving considerable wins. On top of that, Hacksaw adds two types of free spins and a plethora of bonus bets and bonus buys, including one particularly interesting for high rollers FeatureSpins mode.
Before getting into those, though, we need to cover the Row Cascades system, because it supports the entire gameplay flow. This is somewhat of a mix between tumble and nudge mechanics, and we’ve already seen a similar idea before in the Smoking Dragon slot. When a winning combination occurs, all symbols on the bottom row are removed from the grid, and every other symbol shifts down by one row. New symbols then drop into the empty spaces at the top, creating another chance for wins without resetting the whole reel area.
Multiplier Chamber
The main feature in Dead by Noon is the Multiplier Chamber, triggered by Poker Chip symbols. When a Poker Chip lands, it activates if there is a win on the grid (or if the chip itself would be part of a win). Before any combinations are calculated, the chip triggers the Multiplier Chamber above its reel and then transforms into a Wild symbol.

Each of the five chambers reveals a number from 1 to 9 when activated. These chamber numbers stay active during Row Cascades. New Poker Chips can also land during cascades, but only on reels where the chamber has not been activated yet.
Once the Row Cascades are finished, the final win is multiplied by the combined number created from the activated chambers, read from left to right. So, for example, chamber values of 5, 3, and 2 would create a 532x multiplier.
The catch is that only continuous active chambers starting from the leftmost reel are combined, so no gaps in the sequence. All Multiplier Chambers reset between spins.
Free Spins
Dead by Noon has two FS bonus rounds, both triggered by Scatter symbols in the base game. Landing 3 FS symbols starts the Draw Or Die bonus with 8 free spins. This mode keeps the base game mechanics but increases the chance of landing Poker Chip symbols.
The higher-tier bonus is No Aim, No Fame, triggered by landing 4 FS symbols. This one starts with 10 free spins and guarantees at least one Poker Chip symbol to land on every spin.
Both bonus rounds can also be extended. Landing two Scatters during the feature awards +2 extra spins, while three award +4.
FeatureSpins & Bonus Buys
Dead by Noon also comes with the usual Hacksaw shortcut menu, split between bonus bets and bonus buys:
- BonusHunt FeatureSpins – cost 3x bet: each spin is 5 times more likely to trigger a bonus game. Volatility: Extreme.
- Hold ’Em Or Fold ’Em FeatureSpins – cost 50x bet: each spin guarantees that at least 1 Poker Chip symbol lands, giving the Multiplier Chamber mechanic more room to activate. Volatility: Extreme.
- High-Roller FeatureSpins – cost 1,000x bet: each spin has a chance of awarding the top prize. Volatility: Extreme.
- Draw Or Die – cost 80x bet: buys the first bonus round with 8 free spins. Volatility: Very high.
- No Aim, No Fame – cost 200x bet: buys the stronger bonus round with 10 free spins. Volatility: Extreme.
High-Roller FeatureSpins
The High-Roller FeatureSpins mode deserves a separate mention. This is the wildest option in the menu, costing 1,000x the bet and offering a 1 in 10.39 chance of awarding the game’s 10,000x max win. The feature is similar to the God Mode found in select Nolimit City slots.

During High-Roller FeatureSpins, only Wanted Poster symbols and Dead symbols can land. Dead symbols are non-paying blanks with no special effect, while Wanted Posters are the symbols you actually need. The number of possible Wanted Posters differs by reel:
- Reel 1 – can land between 3 and 4 posters.
- Reel 2 – can land between 2 and 4 posters.
- Reel 3 – can land between 1 and 3 posters.
- Reel 4 – can land between 1 and 3 posters.
- Reel 5 – can land between 1 and 2 posters.
The player gets six shots. Five are fired first, one on each reel. If all five shots hit a Wanted Poster symbol, the max win is awarded immediately. If four shots hit Wanted Posters and one misses by landing on a Dead symbol, the Lucky Shot triggers, giving one final attempt on the reel where the miss happened.
Dead by Noon Demo Version And Free Play
The Dead by Noon demo is definitely worth trying before real-money play, because the game is built around a mechanic that you don’t see in everyday slots. A few free sessions make it easier to understand how Multiplier Chamber and Row Cascade system operate.
Demo mode is also a good way to test the different bonus bets and purchase options. Dead by Noon has several shortcuts, and it makes sense to see how these options actually behave before putting a real balance behind them.
You can play the Dead by Noon demo on SlotCatalog with no sign-up, no download, and no deposit required. Just open the game, spin it for free, and decide whether this grim Western duel is your kind of Hacksaw release.
Pros And Cons Of Dead by Noon Slot
Pros

- Innovative Multiplier Chamber mechanic
- Two types of Free Spins
- High-Roller bonus mode with a max win chase
Cons
- Lower RTP versions are available
- Brutal volatility won’t suit everyone
Final Thoughts
Dead by Noon is a rather interesting Hacksaw release. The grim Western presentation is outstanding and gameplay-wise, I really like the tandem of Row Cascades and the Multiplier Chamber system.
There’s serious potency to it, no doubt, but also some brutal variance. Multipliers that land far off to the right don’t give you anything unless every previous reel is activated as part of the chain. And man, even triggering the first two reels consecutively can be quite a challenge, not to mention connecting three or more chambers. But when the system does align, even a small combination can suddenly turn into a max win hit.
Regarding the max win chase, I like the high-roller spins mode. Obviously, it’s not for everyone – only a very specific group of daredevils will even consider touching it – but as a concept, it’s fun and fits the ruthless tone of the game perfectly.
Overall, Dead by Noon is a solid slot with a brilliant visual side, clever gameplay features, and serious winning potential. It can be rough, but the main mechanic is genuinely interesting enough to make this one stand out from the crowded Wild West niche.
