At the end of May, the long wait of more than a decade was over and Avalon 3 was finally released. A Medieval saga that the mythical game developer Microgaming began in 2006 is running again with new blood inserted by Stormcraft Studios. The legend of King Arthur and Merlin is about to continue, so let’s check behind the veil of magic!

The industry-renowned provider sold his assets and the Quickfire platform to Games Global in 2022. Part of the library was Avalon released in 2006 and its 2014 sequel Avalon 2. Both games managed to find sweet spots in the hearts and minds of generations of online gamblers. And it is now time for Stormcraft Studios to continue the franchise.

Our Verdict

Avalon 3 will definitely charm fans of the Arthurian Legend and the series, at least at first glance. The game looks and feels well, although the inclusion of static jackpots is starting to get banal. Indeed, two of them are rising jackpots, but since they are capped, who really needs that? Anyway, the slot has its positive sides and they are not few!

I personally like the Magic Orb Bonus concept and the hefty 50 potential rewards. The variety of special symbols also makes the gameplay more dynamic, despite the fact that they are blocking symbols after all. The good news is that if you land 3 or more special symbols, including wilds, on consecutive reels, starting from the leftmost one, their prizes will be awarded. That’s available on any spin that hasn’t triggered a feature or a bonus.

In general, Stormcraft Studios has done a good job and shows clearly why Games Global prefers to assign heavy tasks to this studio. The provider stands behind sequels of legendary slots, including Immortal Romance 2 and Thunderstruck Stormchaser. Another title that deserves mentioning is Agent Jane Blonde Returns, but actually, the examples are too many.

The only issue with Avalon 3, and it’s a big issue, is the lack of originality. As I already mentioned, generations of online casino players have risen with Avalon and were more or less charmed by the second release. For a decade of waiting, they surely have expected something more. So in short, Avalon 3 is magnificent, just not as brilliant as I expected it to be!
