Mines (Jili Games) Game Review

Mines is a Crash Game by Jili Games released in 2023 and optimized for play on all devices. The Asian provider showed once again its ability to craft different types of content and follow the trends. The game was quickly followed by a sequel during the same year - Mines Gold, and a 3rd installment in 2025 - Mines Grand. Both seem designed in close cooperation with TaDa Gaming.

Jili Games is a popular developer of online slots, Fishing games, table classics, bingo, and arcades for the Asian market. Thanks to audit certificates by the reputable BMM and GLI, the company has a presence in many other markets, including in Europe and Latin America. Jili Games uses RNG and Provably Fair technology to ensure fairness.

Mines is a game of the second category, and according to information in the menu, players can manually verify each round. They can check and compare the seed with any online tool, but I failed in my search for the functionality. Given the provider’s reputation, that is hardly the case, so I urge you to check the settings once you start a real-money session.

Mines is a modern take on the classic game where you need to pick cells and make your path without activating the bombs. Here, each successful step brings a reward from a predetermined set. Players can choose from 1 to 24 mines on the 5x5 field and thus, regulate the risk, but also the reward.

Once the round begins, you need to select one of the cells, and if there is no bomb there, a Coin will appear. Every time that happens, after any selection, you can choose to Cash Out. This way, you will collect the currently active multiplier and end the round. A very useful Autoplay feature is part of the game, but there is no Quickspin or turbo mode.

Mines offers different win multipliers according to the number of implanted mines on the field. For example, the easiest tier with only 1 bomb pays from 1.01x to 23.25x the bet. The minimum cash prizes for 1 successful step vary from 1.01x to 11.63x for 1 to 23 mines, and if you select 24 bombs, the potential payout will be 23.25x.

That, of course, is too low for such a difficult task and high risk, and I’m confident that no one will choose this level. The maximum reward skyrockets with adding just a few extra bombs on the grid. For example, if you play with 5 mines, the payout ratio is 1.21x to 49,410x. But, as usual, reaching for this multiplier is pointless.

The Mines max win is substantial - 10,000x the bet, but that also makes the chase of any win multiplier higher than this worthless. Keep that in mind when choosing your strategy, and my advice is to keep your gameplay simple! The betting range is wide and you can risk from 1 to 100 coins or €0.10 to €100 per round, by default.

The Mines RTP rate is fantastic - 97% blended with medium levels of volatility. However, this is a progressive casino game and the jackpot contribution is 4% of each real money bet. Sadly, that leaves the pure payout rate at 93%, but that shouldn’t disappoint you! Mines is a game of strategy, so if you play with discipline, the odds will be fair!

Like many other Crash games, Mines lacks modifiers, special multipliers, and bonus minigames. Jili Games often runs tournaments and contests, which can be an excellent source of extra rewards. Moreover, Mines is packed with a special feature that can pay a progressive jackpot. Unlike other games, it is not random, and here is how to trigger it:

Treasure Chest activates the Bonus Wheel, and you can see it on the prize trail above the grid once you start a new round. You’ll need to make a number of selections to reach it, and they are more for the easy tiers and fewer for the more difficult ones. For example, you need to open 20 Coins if you choose 1 Mine, only 2 Coins from 12 to 19 Mines, and just 1 Coin for any tier after that.

Once you make the necessary selection and there is no explosion after that, a Bonus Wheel with 16 slices will spin. It will either award a Coin, a fixed jackpot, or one of the progressive jackpots. While playing the game, you can see the entire pot above the grid, but each of the prizes awards a piece of it:

Mines by Jili Games does not differ much from any other modern games designed by other studios. It comes in portrait-style mode indeed, but is compatible with mobile and desktop devices. The blue backdrop is particularly easy on the eyes, and the overall visual quality of the active zone is up to par.

The audio performance is good without being lavish, and all tabs and buttons are conveniently placed around the 5x5 grid. The only element that makes this title different from almost all the others in the Mines Games category is the progressive element. But as usual, you shouldn’t expect the biggest prizes to drop too easily!

Our Verdict

Mines by Jili Games is comparable to the best release of the genre on the market. Despite the progressive part, the RTP rate is close to the highest in the category - Minesweeper XY (98.40%). This is also one of the highest-rated titles by players, and it was released by BGAMING in 2022. The provider was a pioneer in the category with Minesweeper in 2016!

Mines Gold and Mines Grand share the same payout rate of Mines, but Jili Games has added several minor modifiers. I personally prefer the style of Hacksaw Gaming in its variant of Mines with the Dare2Win mechanic. Another awesome alternative I recommend is Coin Miner by Gaming Corps, despite its lower win cap.

In general, each of these titles is designed to attract the fans of the retro Minesweeper presented by Microsoft in 1990. Of course, the goal here is totally different, so the gameplay had to be adjusted accordingly. Jili Games has added a progressive jackpot and offered full freedom to players to arrange the field and cash out at any moment!
