Mine Island is part of the provider's XGames repertoire and boasts simple gameplay and lack of bonus features.

Mine Island Features

Mine Island is pretty intuitive for play and does not need much instruction. Once you select the stake level, you need to press the Play button. It will then transform into Jump, and you will have to make the first step above the water. If you are lucky, the kangaroo will successfully step on the 1.10x step.

Mine Island lacks any bonus minigames and special features that will bring extra cash, multiplier boosters, or free games. However, you have a few control tools to stay on top of your gameplay. After the first successful jump, you can use the Collect tab to cash out and end the round.

If you are lucky enough to make 4 successful jumps and reach the 2x step, you will also activate the 50% Collect. As the name implies, you will cash out half of your win and will continue to be in the race for the ultimate prize. Be advised that button will also cut your bet in half, so any future winnings will be twice as small.

Autoplay is quite a handy technical feature, as it will accelerate and ease your play. You can choose the number of automatically played rounds, as well as the Auto Collect multiplier. Theme & Graphics

Mine Island looks like a paradise to be, with yellow beach sand and blue ocean waters washing the shore. An island, indeed, somewhere in the tropics if we count on the surfboard and the toucan perched on top of it. There are palm trees on both sides of the view and volcanic islands in the distance.

The Arcade theme doesn't really fit those images, but the gameplay does. The quality of the graphics is fine, and the bright colors remind of the sunlight on the beach, making us wear sunglasses. Animations are rare but nice and the relaxing audio will help you chill. Mine Island is, of course, compatible with various devices, including Android and iOS mobiles.

Our Verdict

Mine Island is a fun arcade with a limited payout potential that ranks it close to many other Smartsoft Gaming titles. The straightforward gameplay and high RTP rate had to be balanced somehow, so the win cap comes as a natural barrier. It can't really be compared to other XGames arcades, like Smash X and Hunter X, for example.

They have much higher max win multipliers of 10,000x and 5,000x, respectively, but also lower RTP rates. Mine Island could have a higher potential if special features were part of the package. However, I guess the idea is to keep players closer to the entertainment side of gambling, like in Mini Penalties.

The 50% Collect feature is contradictory, in my opinion, because the bet decreases after activation. Moreover, players need to make 4 moves out of 10 possible in total to bring it into play in the first place. High rollers may have use of it, but those with a regular taste for risk should try different approaches, like betting strategies, instead.
