You need at least 5 scatters in view to trigger the Bonus Respins feature, and the triggering scatters become sticky on an otherwise cleared grid. You will land blanks or new scatters per respin that follows, and all new scatters that land become sticky as well. This resets the respins tally back to 3 each time, and the scatters come with cash prizes between 1 and 100 x your stake.

You can also land Hyper symbols during the Bonus Respins round, and they act a bit differently compared to the base game. The affected scatter symbols are doubled in value, while affected blank positions, as well as the Hyper symbol itself, are removed to trigger a cascade. Your total win is summed up when the feature ends, and this happens when you run out of respins.

ReelPlay seems to have morphed the Hypernova series into a brand new Hyper series, or perhaps Hyper Respins will be a one-off offshoot, time will tell. Either way, if you can see past the cold and somewhat generic exterior, this game actually delivers quite engaging gameplay in all stages. It’s a well balanced release in that regard, as you get plenty of zap and bomb modifiers to keep things interesting and potentially lucrative also in the base game.

We like that removed symbols also pay, albeit not too much per removal, but everything helps. The Bonus Respins feature took us by surprise as well, as the Hyper symbols double cash prize scatter values while also modifying the symbol constellation by removing blanks. It all adds up to quite a neat experience, and this feature flies way above most hold and wins style features we see every month.
