We liked the concept, visuals, and Rampage nostalgia you get in the original Monsters vs Gigablox, but there was something lackluster about the bonus round. In addition, the math model was less than convincing. Luckily, Hot Rise Games have amended those issues in this excellent follow-up release called Gods vs Gigablox.

The game comes with a mix of Norse, Egyptian, and Asian mythology characters, and these are Thor, Anubis, Sun Wukong, Ares, and Kitsune. Both the predecessor, Monsters vs Gigablox, and the game at hand are visually impressive, and we are unsure which one we like best in that regard. Gods vs Gigablox comes with some well-known and some lesser known characters, and it’s pretty cool to see them duke it out as giants on either side of the reels in the Versus feature. The Rampage nostalgia is long gone though, which was the aspect we most appreciated in the first game.

One thing we do know is that we like the bonus rounds in this follow-up release far more than what you get in the first game. The bonus round with a chosen premium symbol as wild is perhaps not the most inventive feature we’ve seen, but the Versus feature more than weighs up for that. It’s an entertaining spectacle for sure, and the 10,225x potential is significantly higher as well. All in all, this is a solid follow-up that’s well worth checking out.
