Peter and Sons are definitely familiar with the DoubleMax multiplier system, with installments like Barbarossa Doublemax under their belt, and in Abrakadabra they’ve come up with a multiplier system of their own. You get to meet both wizards and witches in this game, and this is a classic Peter and Sons production when it comes to the quirky visual presentation. Some of the features have been seen before as well, and not least the top Power Reel which provides Wild Lives symbols in all stages.

The Step Multiplier is active in all stages as well, and the active win multiplier takes the form of a glowing magical orb between the palms of the left-hand side wizard. He literally zaps the winning symbols with his magical powers, and the multiplier can increment to impressive numbers in longer cascading sequences. It never resets in either of the bonus round tiers, and both features come with a multiplier powerup top reel symbol that’s enhanced in the super version.

The Power Bet doubles your bonus round chances if you keep it switched on, and this will cost you no more than 20 % extra per spin. The premium symbols pay between 0.55 and 2.5 x your stake for 5 of a kind wins, and the Wild symbols step in for any pay symbol to help complete and/or improve wins. Winning symbols are removed and replaced via the Cascading feature, and both regular symbols and symbols from the Power Reel will fill the gaps.

The Power Reel can be seen above the regular grid, and the symbols that slide in on the power reel drop onto the main grid via the Cascading mechanic. It can release Wilds with 1 to 3 lives, and these remain in play until their lives have been spent. A life is subtracted per cascade or spin, and there is also a Multiplier Powerup that’s available only during the bonus rounds.

The Step Multiplier can be seen stacked above the wizard on the left-hand side, and it increases per cascade. The active multiplier is displayed within an orb between the wizard’s hands, and the multiplier increments in a chronological numerical sequence. This means that you start with an x1 multiplier, and it increases by +2, +3, +4, +5, and so forth. In practice, this looks like x1, x2, x4, x7, x11, to x16, ad infinitum.

The Bonus Round triggers when you land 3 scatters in view, and this gives you 7 free spins. You get +2 additional free spins on top of that per additional triggering scatters. The Multiplier Powerup symbol can now appear on the Power Reel, as mentioned, and it increases the win multiplier by +1 (or +1 to +3 in the Super FS round). The win multiplier never resets in the bonus round, and wilds can sometimes be transferred from the power reel to the main grid if at least 2 wilds are present.

The Super Bonus Round triggers from collecting 450 scatters, and scatters are collected when you land only 1 or 2 in the base game. You get 10 super free spins each time, and the super bonus round plays out exactly like the regular feature except for one thing. The Multiplier Powerup can increase the non-resetting win multiplier by up to +3 instead of just +1.

The step multiplier system is clever as well, and somewhat akin to the doublemax system, and it can certainly make a dent in longer cascading sequences.

The Power Reel could perhaps have included a richer variety of modifiers, but the wild lives come in handy on a regular basis in all stages. Getting +1 added to the FS multiplier isn’t really all that impactful compared to simply getting another cascade, but anything helps, of course, and not least the fact that the multiplier only keeps building for the duration of the feature.
