Thunderkick returns with The Wildos 2, a sequel to the highly popular The Wildos slot from 2023, which up to date remains among the studio’s most successful releases. This follow-up takes everything that made the original a hit and upgrades that to the next level – we get the same top-notch cartoonish Western style and the gameplay that revolves around multiplier wilds, but greatly revamped and basically with every aspect bigger and better. Let’s dive in and see what’s changed.

The first thing you’ll notice that got bigger is the reel setup. The Wildos 2 slot machine takes a step up in size, expanding the grid to 5x4, compared to the more compact layout of the original. The number of win lines also increased, now providing 20 ways to play on each spin, allowing for bigger winning opportunities.

Multiplier Wilds

Three different kinds of Wild symbols can appear within the three middle reels, namely 2, 3, and 4. All reveal random multiplier values, which are then applied to wins these Wild symbols take part in. If more than one participates in the same win, the multipliers are combined.

• Bronze – have multipliers of 1x, 2x, or 3x.
• Silver – have multipliers of 5x, 6x, or 8x.
• Gold – have multipliers of 10x, 15x, or 25x.

Bounty Poster Feature

Similarly, there are three different kinds of special Bounty Poster symbols that can appear to add extra Wilds to the reels 2 - 4. These posters featuring the three outlaw, and after they perform their action, the Bounty Posters transform into their corresponding character symbols.

• Green Wildo Poster – throws a bomb and adds a cluster of up to 4 Bronze Wilds.
• Blue Wildo Poster – plays guitar and adds up to 5 Silver Wilds to random positions.

Wilds can overlap one another. If a higher-value Wild lands on a position with an existing Wild symbol of a lower value, it upgrades it. Doesn’t work the other way around though.

Bonus Game

Landing 3 Scatter symbols anywhere in view simultaneously activates The Wildos 2 free spins feature. Players get to pick their preferred option:

• Bronze Bonus – awards 12 free spins.
• Silver Bonus – awards 9 free spins.
• Gold Bonus – awards 6 free spins.
• Random Bonus – 6, 9, or 12 free spins and a chance for Super Bonus.

During the bonus game, any Wild type can land, but the selected one is sticky, getting locked for the remainder of the free games. Bounty Posters are available, but Wild upgrades do not persist – they revert back after the spin.

That doesn’t apply to the Super Bonus though, where upgrades persist throughout the entire bonus round, and all types of Wild symbols are sticky. To trigger it, players need to land at least one Super Scatter when triggering the free spins.

Theme & Graphics

The Wildos 2 sticks to its Western theme, featuring familiar cartoonish style with masked outlaws as the main characters. The setting’s shifted a little though – the background is no longer a dusty frontier town – this time, the crew is robbing a train! Here, the reels are set on a speeding locomotive, creating a high-intensity, fast-paced heist atmosphere. Overall, the visuals stay true to the original’s, but with even more polish and sharper details. Great job by Thunderkick’s design team.
