If you haven’t visited the hazy living room of Ted the foul-mouthed teddy bear by now, Blueprint offers you another chance in Ted Stuffed & Loaded. This branded release is hardly the first from this provider, with Ted Megaways as a notable highlight in the series. Ted is throwing some kind of rave party this time, and apparently he’s too busy to appear as the game mascot except when features are triggered. Worry not, though, the feature department is stuffed to the gills, so you’ll get to see the little bugger often enough.

Ted Stuffed & Loaded plays out on a 5x4 grid with 20 paylines, and you win by landing matching symbols across these paylines starting from the leftmost reel. The premium symbols, consisting of the Ted logo, a lady, a bong, and a goose, pay 5x to 25x your stake for 5 of a kind. The royal symbols all pay 2.5x your stake for the same. Wild symbols appear on reels 2 to 5 only, and substitutes for any pay symbol to help complete or improve wins. Wilds do not hold any value of their own in this game, which makes sense since they cannot appear on the first reel.

Ted Stuffed & Loaded - Reels Screen

Above the reels, you’ll see a horizontal trail, and this trail collects cash collect symbols to upgrade the collect symbol and unlock different bonus features. Cash prizes of up to 15x, as well as jackpot prizes of up to 1,000x, can be collected by the expanding Ted collect symbol before the collect symbol itself is collected by the trail. Random Thunder modifiers can trigger at any time, and the reel of fortune feature can deliver upgraded jackpot prizes once unlocked via the collect symbol trail. Once unlocked, filling a beer bar triggers a wheel of mystery spin that can deliver many different prizes and features.

Cash Collect & Trail Unlock

Landing the Ted Collect symbol on reel 1 and/or reel 5 together with at least one Cash symbol triggers the Cash Collect feature. The Ted Collect symbol expands to fill the entire reel before collecting all present Cash symbols. Cash symbols land with values ranging from 0.5x to 15x your stake, and they can also land with the Mini, Minor, Major, or Grand jackpot values of 20x, 50x, 200x, or 1,000x your stake.

Each time you trigger the Cash Collect feature, you also progress on the Trail above the reels. This unlocks upgraded Collect symbols that work as follows:

• Remote Respin Collect (2 collected Collect symbols) - makes cash symbols sticky, triggering a streak respin feature that only stops when you don’t land anymore cash symbols.
• Bear Me Collect (5 collected Collect symbols) - fills a reel with cash symbols.
• Seeing Double Collect (8 collected Collect symbols) - upgrades all present cash symbols to a higher value.
• Psychedelic Dream Collect (12 collected Collect symbols) - positions may upgrade cash symbols or turn into additional cash symbols.
• Reel of Fortune (16 collected Collect symbols) - unlocks the Reel of Fortune feature (see details further down).
• Ted-O-Meter (20 collected Collect symbols) - unlocks the Ted-O-Meter (see details further down).

Thunder Buddies Modifiers

Thunder Buddies modifiers can be triggered randomly after a spin ends, and you will then see Ted appear to trigger 1 of the 2 following features:

• Collect Upgrade - upgrades the Collect symbol on the trail above the reels.
• Lost to Win - removes and replaces symbols with a win guarantee.

Reel of Fortune

Once you have collected 16+ Collect symbols, landing a special Ted symbol on the same spin as a Collect symbol triggers the Reel of Fortune feature. A special reel then appears to award a prize ranging from 5x to 1,000x your stake. You can also increase the prize and trigger a respin of the reel, while landing a PIP ends the feature, awarding the current prize.

Ted-O-Meter

Once you have collected 20 Collect symbols, a Beer Bar appears above the reels, replacing the Collect symbol trail. You can then land a special Bubble symbol which is collected in the Beer Bar. A full Beer Bar triggers the Wheel of Mystery feature, which can trigger the Reel of Fortune or award Collect symbol respins, Thunder Buddies modifiers, jackpots, big win respins, Bear Bucks Bonus, Top Shelf Bonus, Mellow Spins Bonus, a combination of up to all 3 bonuses, or the Big Money Bonus.

Bonus Games

Landing red, green, and/or blue scatter symbols can trigger corresponding Bonus Games, but only if you land enough scatters in view. The red scatter can trigger the Top Shelf Bonus Spins feature, the green scatter can trigger the Bear Bucks feature, and the blue scatter can trigger the Mellow Spins feature.

Landing 1 or 2 scatters in view can randomly trigger the relevant Bonus Games, while landing 3 scatters guarantees the relevant Bonus Games. Landing 4 or 5 scatters also awards 20x or 100x your stake, respectively, before awarding all relevant Bonus Games. The Bonus Games play out one after another.

Top Shelf Bonus Spins

Triggered by the red scatter, the Top Shelf Bonus Spins feature awards 10 free spins. The Cash Collect feature plays out like in the base game, but you can now land scatters that unlock a Prize Pyramid. This Prize Pyramid starts at level 1, and landing on Enhancement positions awards the corresponding prize. You can also land on Advance positions to move up to the next level of the pyramid, with better prizes available. Landing on Enhancement positions turns them into Advance positions.

Bear Bucks

Triggered by the green scatter, the Bear Bucks feature awards 3 free spins. The reels can expand from 5x4 to 5x7 during this hold and win bonus round, and only cash symbols, golden Ted symbols, or blanks will land. Each Cash symbol that lands resets the free spin counter to 3 again, so the feature goes on until you land 3 spins without any Cash symbols. Golden Ted scatter symbols award 1 of the following 6 upgrades:

• Extra Reel - adds an additional row to the grid.
• Boost - adds up to 5x to all present cash symbols.
• Additional Cash Symbols - awards up to 3 cash symbols.
• Boost Every Spin - adds up to 5x to all cash symbols per spin.
• Collection - collects all present cash symbol values.
• Bonus Game - awards the Big Money Bonus when the feature ends.

Mellow Spins

Triggered by the blue scatter, the Mellow Spins bonus awards 10 free spins. You will land only cash symbols, big money bonus symbols, special scatters, and blanks during this bonus round. Random shapes create Mellow Zones as they move across the reels before each spin. Only symbols landing in a Mellow Zone are collected as a win.

Landing a Big Money Bonus symbol in a Mellow Zone triggers the Big Money Bonus after the Mellow Spins bonus ends. Landing 3, 6, 9, or 12 special scatter symbols awards +5 free spins each time, while also increasing the Mellow Zone size to a minimum of 8, 12, 16, and 20 positions, respectively.

Big Money Bonus

Once unlocked, the Big Money Bonus can be triggered from the Ted-O-Meter or other bonus features. It’s a pick-and-click kind of bonus, where you’ll crack open safe symbols to reveal cash prizes. When you reveal a Collect symbol, the feature ends with your total winnings being summed up.

Theme & Graphics

Ted Stuffed & Loaded takes you to the iconic couch inside the crude teddy bear’s dimly lit flat, and, as usual, it looks like a never-ending party. You’ve got silhouetted figures dancing behind the translucently purple reels, with leftover empty beer cans scattered everywhere. Ted himself is not present at all times, though, but he keeps popping in when different features are triggered or when you land the Collect symbol. Stacked coolers filled with brew flank the reels on the left, with the jackpots stacked on the right. The Collect symbol trail lays horizontally above the grid, and the visuals will remind you of the Ted movie.

There certainly are enough features to sink your teeth into in this game, so testing the Ted Stuffed & Loaded demo might be a good idea to see how you like them. Our Verdict

There was a time when a new Ted release from Blueprint would evoke at least curiosity and maybe even a sense of anticipation. However, this long-running series about the foul-mouthed, chain-smoking, drunk teddy bear is starting to wear a bit thin by now. Ted Stuffed & Loaded doesn’t feel all that different from previous installments, and it does nothing to bring the series forward or in a new direction. If you like previous Ted games, this one basically offers more of the same, which may be fine for new players and diehard fans.

Oddly enough, Ted himself isn’t even lounging on the living room couch. It’s just an empty couch with beer cans, which is a strange choice by the Blueprint team. At least let the little bugger put on a bit of a show for the fans, even if that means catching Z’s most of the time. To be fair, though, you get to see the crude teddy bear in action when features trigger, and there are plenty to go around in Ted Stuffed & Loaded, as indicated by the title. The anonymous silhouetted ravers feel a bit out of place, hidden behind the grid as they are, and overall, there is a sense of emptiness not found in previous Ted slots.

As mentioned, the feature department is definitely both stuffed and loaded in this game, and perhaps even more so than in most previous installments. I do like the Cash Collect trail thing, as it’s fun to upgrade Collect symbols with different features. However, it’s hard to not feel a bit overwhelmed by it all, and perhaps two bonus rounds would’ve been better to narrow the focus a bit. The base game is mainly about cash collection, though, but plenty of random features break up the grind.

It takes a while to unlock the whole Collect trail, which means you need to commit some time and money before the full array of features becomes available. This is not really that big of a deal in Ted Stuffed & Loaded, though, as there are plenty of features to trigger from the get-go. If you don’t suffer from Ted fatigue by now or just love this franchise, there is plenty of entertainment to be found in this game for sure. The 10,000x potential is pretty solid too, but you will be dealing with a below-average RTP of 94% (or even lower due to RTP ranges).
