Sweet Baklava is an exclusive slot game released by Pragmatic Play in the first week of January. It follows the provider's unofficial series based on different sweet delights and delicacies. Pragmatic Play started the new 2025 with a dozen projects based on popular mechanics that have already been used in numerous games. The setting is the interior of a bakery shop where a smiling master pastry chef welcomes us with a plate full of fresh baklava. The premium quality graphics and nice animation effects are wonderfully complemented by Oriental-inspired audio and a voice sound in Turkish. Everything looks fine and natural, which should not surprise us given the fact that this novel slot comes from the "oven" of Pragmatic Play.

Our Verdict

Sweet Baklava is another take on the popular Fishing-themed games powered by Pragmatic Play. This time, the provider exploits a new theme, with, I must admit, a significant potential. It seems that the company is trying to establish a new branch on the tree as another cuisine slot is scheduled - Peppe’s Pepperoni Pizza Plaza.

It's expected in the middle of February and will be produced by the partner studio Reel Kingdom. Just like Sweet Baklava, this slot will offer special features and mechanics taken out from Big Bass Splash. Exactly that overusing is at the base of the major weaknesses of these slots.

Both studios tried to find another gold mine, as they exploited with average success the Asian horizontals - the Floating Dragon slot sequels. But, the concept has been adopted by other trending providers, like Hacksaw Gaming. I really like their variant, Marlin Masters, which offers Catch Them All and Reel It In features, retriggers, and multipliers.

Overall, Sweet Baklava can be the one to entice a rather large group of gamblers. It's no secret that Turkish residents have deep sympathy for gambling and online slots.
