Reaction Link Review

Reaction Link is one of the newest slot games by the renowned developer Playtech for 2025. It was launched on the 10th of January and has already accumulated positive feedback. The machine features a new mechanic that has been tested in 2024 multiple times by the provider. Stay with me to find out all!

Playtech is one of the oldest and most creative iGaming developers on the market, and nowadays, it operates mainly through its in-house studios. Reaction Link has been launched by the most productive of them - Playtech Origins, and it's about to set up a new series of slots, in my humble opinion.

The game comes with 5 reels and 3 basic rows, generating 20 fixed paylines. They bring rewards for 3 or more of a kind on adjacent reel positions, starting from the leftmost part of the board and continuing to the right. Moreover, 4 extra rows are locked and waiting to be activated. Thus, the grid can have a maximum layout of 5x7 and 60 fixed lines.

Reaction Link features a new, rather not innovative, Reelset Changing mechanic that allows players to earn more payouts per spin. The script is also enhanced with stacked symbols, including wilds and 4 static jackpots. Bonus Buy is not available here, but a bet booster is, along with useful technical features like Autoplay and Turbo Spin.

Bells award from 1.50x to 7.50x, while Triple BARs pay between 1x and 6x the stake. The wild symbol may land on reels 2, 3, and 4 only, and when it does, it substitutes for all of the above-mentioned symbols. Just like them, it lands in variable stacks with significant potential. The other symbols in the game are Coins and Green Arrows, which I'll introduce in the next review section.

Reaction Link is a high-roller online slot with bets reaching €500 per spin, and players can exploit a total of 26 stake levels. At the same time, gamblers with low-risk profiles can wager from €0.10 per round. That opens a wide window of opportunities for the implementation of various betting strategies.

The Reaction Link RTP rate is 95.40%, which is lower than the usual industry average, but that won't be a surprise for Playtech fans. Sadly, there is no information about the Reaction Link max win. Some online sources point out 1,160x the bet, while others quote the Grand Jackpot value of 500x. I cannot confirm or deny any of these claims at the time of writing. Reaction Link offers a bonus, which is not a classic Free Spins minigame but can be quite rewarding. Here are all the special features, modifiers, and bonuses in the slot:

Reaction Link - Coins & Green Arrows

Green Arrows are the activation keys to the Reaction Link mechanics. Each one lands with no number, +2, or +3, and activates 1, 2, or 3 new rows, respectively. Each new row adds 10 paylines to the basic 20 up to 60 lines in total for a 5x7 board. Symbols on newly activated rows also activate and participate in winning combinations.

Cash Coins land with values of 0.50x, 1x, 1.50x, 2x, 3x, 5x, 10x, or 15x the bet. Diamond Coins award the jackpots displayed below, as some of them can land with multipliers. Cash Coins and Diamond Coins award their values only during the bonus minigame:

• Grand Jackpot - 500x the bet
• Major Jackpot - 100x the bet
• Minor Jackpot - 25x the bet
• Mini Jackpot - 10x the bet

Grand Jackpot does not land with a multiplier, while the Major Jackpot can land with x1, x2, and x3. Minor Jackpot has the same, but Mini Jackpot can land with x1, x2, x3, and x5. If you draw a jackpot prize with a multiplier, you win its base value multiplied accordingly.

Free Games

As I already mentioned, the Free Games bonus is closer to the Hold & Win type of minigame than Free Spins. You'll need 6 or more Coins of any kind to activate Free Games, and the triggering Coins will be locked on their positions. You'll receive 7 free spins and, not as usual, 3 respins that can reset.

Free Games starts with 3 unlocked rows, and any new Coins that land will hold on to their positions until the end of the minigame. The more you get, the more rows you'll unlock as per the scheme below:

• 8 Coins unlock row 4;
• 12 Coins unlock row 5;
• 16 Coins unlock row 6;
• 22 Coins unlock row 7;
• 28 Coins unlock the Recharge Feature.

Recharge is a bonus feature that activates automatically when you have 28 or more active Coins in view. It randomly selects up to 15 Cash Coins and upgrades their values or turns them into Diamond Coins. During Free Games, several extra symbols may also land on the reels:

• Mystery Coins - the Mystery symbols lock on their positions and unlock either a cash prize or a Diamond Coin at the end of the bonus.
• Retrigger Symbol - adds extra free spins to the remaining balance. It can add from 1 to 7 extra rounds and then will disappear from the grid.
• Spreader Symbol - a Lightning Bolt symbol that spreads on up to 5 Cash Coins in the active and locked areas. It adds extra value to their prizes, and itself transforms into a Cash Coin.

Extra Bet

Extra Bet is a special booster that requires a 50% increase of the base bet. In return, the feature lowers the bonus activation threshold from 6 Coins or more to 5 Coins or more. However, that lowers the slot's RTP rate slightly down to 95.34%. In my experience, the booster can be a valuable tool, but it must not be used recklessly.

Theme & Graphics

Reaction Link spreads positive mode vibes with a creatively selected Fruity theme enhanced with disco motifs. The neon-blue background is electrifying, and I like the smoothness of the animations and gameplay. Playtech quickly shows why it's a high-tiered provider, although this is not one of its greatest masterpieces.

After I tested Reaction Link on both desktop and mobile devices, I can recommend the second. The game uses HTML5 technology and will run via any browser to fit any screen. Pros And Cons Of Reaction Link Slot

Our Verdict

Reaction Link feels new, although I have seen the mechanics before. Playtech loves the concept of expanding grids and revealing new rows with rewards, but in most cases, it was saved for the bonus round. There are many examples of that, and Lil' Demon Blazing Lava and Lucky Bass Mega Cash Collect are two of the best and most recently released.

Reaction Link utilizes a variant of the bonus mechanics in these two slots and includes it in the base game. You can expect Green Arrow of all kinds on almost every spin, but I can also say that the results are worse than expected. The combination of high volatility and an insufficient math model usually leads to that, and these are the most significant drawbacks of the game, in my opinion.

Moreover, the lack of official technical information, except RTP, is a bit frustrating. I can trust online sources that are not related to the provider because a quote that the max win probability is 1 in 3 billion spins is unrealistic. Although I can agree with the bonus round activation frequency - 1 in 127.1 spins on average, as I witnessed similar behavior during my test.

If I go back to mechanics, I actually prefer the expanding engine of the Cash Truckseries produced by Quickspin, another Playtech studio. These slots have more advanced payout systems based on ways to win and not fixed paylines. They have more massive winning potential and more creative bonus features. Then again, Reaction Link possesses the spirit of a classic machine, so I accept the idea of simpler gameplay.
