Apes have been on the radar of the iGaming industry for some time now, as it seems that they have the charm to attract players. Jili Games, a well-established software developer, has also decided to step in and invite such a character in its brand-new slot Party Ape. Party Ape pays for symbols landing on adjacent reels, starting from the leftmost one. The regular ones can appear in different sizes - 1x1, 1x2, and 1x3, and there is a Large Symbol of 2x2 at the center of reels 3 and 4. I mentioned it earlier, as it can change during the base game into a wild symbol if it participates in a winning combination.

Symbols pay for 3, 4, 5, or 6 of a kind with the Boombox sitting at the top, with prizes of 1x to 7.50x. Gold Watch, Dollar Chain, and Snapback Cap award 1x to 2.50x, 0.50x to 1.50x, and 0.40x to 1x, while Stars, Sneakers, and Cans - 0.25x to 0.75x the bet. The low-valued symbols are A, K, Q, and J, and each one pays between 0.05x to 0.20x the stake. Wilds do not line up, but they substitute for all symbols except scatters.

The Party Ape RTP rate is yet unknown, and I’ll update this review once Jili Games provides it. Disco Balls are scatter symbols and they can land on any reel during all game stages. If you spot 4 or more in the base game, they will trigger the bonus, while during the minigame, they will retrigger it. Four scatters award 10 free spins with 2 extra rounds for each scatter on top of that.

Large Symbol starts as a Large Wild, and the multiplier mechanic remains the same - +1 for each winning combination. However, the bonus multiplier does not reset between free spins. So, there is a fair chance to reach a quite significant value in the last bonus rounds.

Extra Bet increases the selected bet by 50%, but increases the wild multiplier and upgrades the sequence. Party Ape is an easy-going online slot with some intriguing features to offer and a balanced combination of volatility and payout potential. It is a pity that I don’t know the RTP rate, or at least I don’t know it yet. The rest seems fine and fully in the provider’s style. Indeed, Party Ape is difficult to compete with masterpieces in the category, like Banana Rock and Henry The Ape.

Details like the fact that the state of the Large Symbol from the base game carries over to Free Spins are more or less insignificant. Or at least when compared to mechanics presented by Play’N GO and Push Gaming, like Fast Stacks and Encore Spins. But, those games are more complex, too, so if you are after a light-hearted slot experience, Party Ape might be more suitable! It comes with a solid max win that easily ranks it at the top of Jili Games’ repertoire.
