Outside of that, Monster Quest feels fairly modest. Animations are fine, but nothing really pushes the theme forward. The Knight can slay only Monsters with lower or equal values, so gobbos and kobolds are realistic targets, while orcs and dragons with values in the thousands often look like decorative threats.

This is where Monster Quest becomes less pleasant for me. Seeing huge Monster values fill the grid should feel tempting, but most of them sit far above what the Knight can realistically collect during a regular bonus round. That is also why the x99,900 max win comes with a huge nuance. The number exists, but the actual road to it feels buried under very specific conditions.

Overall, Monster Quest has a good mechanical idea and a weaker execution. I like the concept of a fantasy monster hunt tied to value collection, but the balance of those values makes the feature feel more frustrating than satisfying too often.
