Money Train 5 Review
Relax Gaming decided to continue its series of games featuring an unusual train that speeds between stations, and on September 24, 2026, fans gained access to Money Train 5, which takes place on a 5x4 grid. As expected, it has high volatility, meaning infrequent big wins in the base game and also not too frequent bonus rounds. But this is offset by a still-respectable RTP of 96.10%.
In standard mode, the max prize in Money Train 5 is paid out with a x50,000 multiplier, which is quite impressive. But the developers have also added an Ultra mode that increases it to x100,000. Considering that you can play a round with bets ranging from 0.10 to 20 euros per spin, the prize here could reach 2 million euros. But of course, seeing such numbers in the game window will be quite difficult due to the high volatility. Relax Gaming has added Enhanced Spin, Bonus Reels modes, and as many as four bonus buy options to this title, so this new release is unlikely to disappoint anyone in terms of feature variety.

The rules of the base game are very simple. You have 40 paylines available for landing winning combinations, and they are always active. To win prizes, you need to land chains of identical symbols, with the first symbol on the leftmost reel. You need at least 3 matching symbols to receive a payout. According to the rules listed in the paytable, only the highest-paying combination on each line is paid out, and winnings from different lines are added together.
At the heart of this game, as with any other slot, are the symbols, which are divided into three groups here. The first group consists of the playing card suits (spades, hearts, clubs, and diamonds), which award multipliers of up to x5 for combinations of five of a kind. Ranked higher are four post-apocalyptic heroes, with the most valuable one capable of multiplying your bet by 20. There are also Wilds, a bonus symbol that triggers a special mode, and nuclear bombs that appear during the Nuclear Wild feature.
| Symbol | Payouts/Info |
|---|---|
| Gas Mask Wild | 5, 4, 3 = x20, x4, x0.8 bet, and it can also replace paying icons (except the Bonus) |
| Skeleton Gunslinger | 5, 4, 3 = x20, x4, x0.8 bet |
| Armored Trooper | 5, 4, 3 = x10, x3, x0.6 bet |
| Skull-Painted Soldier | 5, 4, 3 = x9, x2.5, x0.5 bet |
| Blonde Gunslinger | 5, 4, 3 = x8, x2, x0.5 bet |
| Spade | 5, 4, 3 = x5, x1, x0.2 bet |
| Heart | 5, 4, 3 = x4, x1, x0.2 bet |
| Club | 5, 4, 3 = x3.5, x0.7, x0.2 bet |
| Diamond | 5, 4, 3 = x3, x0.7, x0.2 bet |
| Nuclear Bomb | Planted during the Nuclear Wild feature and blows up into a full Wild reel once it joins a win |
| Bonus Symbol | Can trigger FS mode |
| Ticket Master | Adds to the trigger count for Super FS and pushes the train to Station 15 before the first spin |
Money Train 5 Features
If you’ve been following the Money Train series, you’re probably aware of how the number of interesting features has grown with each release. This time, Relax has essentially introduced a major evolution of the mechanics, shifting the focus away from the now-classic Hold & Win toward multiplier progression and exploration. In other words, you’ll be venturing deeper into a post-apocalyptic wasteland, unlocking new layers of gameplay along the way and drawing closer to the final destination, where truly massive prizes await you.
Nuclear Wild
Sometimes, right in the base game, you can see crosshairs locking onto the reels (up to five at once). They drop nuclear bombs on them. If a bomb is part of a winning combination, it explodes and turns the entire reel Wild. So you essentially get four universal symbols at once that can act as any paying symbol (except for the Bonus one), and this significantly increases your chances of landing combos.
Enhanced Spin and Its Ultra Option
Look to the left of the reels, and you’ll find two switches there, with the first one adding 50% to your current bet. In exchange for this extra risk, you get better chances of triggering FS mode. But this game also features Ultra Free Spins, and you can increase your chances of triggering them by using the second toggle (Standard and Ultra modes). You can only utilize these features while in the base game. According to the developers, using these toggles does not affect the RTP in any way. So it remains at 96.10%.
Bonus Reels and Ultra Bonus Reels
Look below the switches, and you’ll find an SC button that opens a special menu. Here, you’ll find four options for purchasing bonuses, which we’ve described in the table below. In addition to these, there are also two special modes that essentially remove all paid icons from the grid. If you select Bonus Reels, you’ll pay 10 times your base bet and increase your chances of triggering the Bonus and Super Bonus. And if you decide to activate Ultra Bonus Reels, the probability of triggering the Ultra Bonus and Ultra Super Bonus will increase, but this will require you to raise your base bet by as much as 25 times.
| Feature | Details |
|---|---|
| Bonus | Costs x100 bet. Here you get access to the standard FS round with the train waiting at Station 0. |
| Ultra Bonus | It sends you into Ultra FS from Station 0, where the win cap rises to x100,000. But your bet will increase by 250. |
| Super Bonus | The train is already at Station 15, so Bomber and Pyromancer can appear from the first spin. The cost of this feature is 500 times your bet. |
| Ultra Super Bonus | The cost is the bet amount multiplied by 2,000. This is the most expensive ticket, combining the advantage of starting from Station 15 with the “Ultra” limit of x100,000. |
FS Bonus Round
We’ve already mentioned that Money Train 5 also features Bonus symbols, and you need to land at least three of them anywhere on the reels to trigger FS mode. Each Bonus symbol comes with a multiplier, and the FS mode starts with 3 free attempts. The game features a 5x4 grid where the fifth row is locked, and you can unlock it as you play. If you land in Free Spins or Ultra Free Spins, you’ll start at Station Zero. Super Free Spins and Ultra Super Free Spins, on the other hand, are more advanced modes where everything starts immediately at Station 15. If you’ve managed to activate the Ticket Master, the train immediately jumps to Station 15 before the first free spin, with the Ticket Master having time to fulfill its role before the start. Here you can also see additional Bonuses landing on the grid, each carrying multipliers ranging from x1 to x10. Each one resets the FS counter to three. In other words, this bonus mode continues as long as new Bonuses land on the grid, which theoretically can go on indefinitely.

Tickets and Stations
You can see how tickets (from +1 to +5) move the reels from right to left by the specified number of steps. Each reel that leaves the field moves the train forward one station and adds the sum of its values to the total winnings. Remember that tickets are the last to play their role here. And each station opens up new opportunities for you:
- If you reach Station 5, you’ll have a chance to trigger Persistent Icons.
- To unlock the 5th row, you must reach Station 10.
- Bomber and Pyromancer will enter the game when you reach Station 15.
- If you’re lucky enough to reach Station 20, you’ll be able to activate the Permanent Payer.
The bonus game features a variety of additional special symbols. Each one first reveals its value and then performs its unique function. If you see several of them on the grid at once, they trigger from top to bottom and, within a row, from left to right. Also remember that special symbols only work with those on the active playing field. Below is a table listing all these icons and describing their features.
| Symbol | How It Works |
|---|---|
| Bonus Symbol | It is the basic building block of the round, which reveals a value between x1 and x10. |
| Absorber | Removes all standard bonus symbols from the reels, while special ones are not influenced by this effect. |
| Arms Dealer | Turns 1 to 4 Bonuses into feature icons, with the newly created ones acting right away. |
| Collector | It collects all the values displayed on the reels and adds their sum to its own. |
| Collector Payer | Picks 3-5 target icons and adds their values to its own. Then it pays the new total to each of them. |
| Ticket Master | Takes the current total multiplier and adds it to all other visible symbols. Additionally, it always carries a ticket worth 1. |
| Necromancer | Restores one or two special functions that have already been triggered, provided they were not persistent. |
| Payer | It can display a win multiplier and apply it to all other visible symbols. |
| Sniper | Doubles the values of 3 to 8 other icons, with the option to hit the same target more than once. |
| Bomber | This icon is available from Station 15, and it can multiply all visible multipliers by x2, x3, x4, or x5. |
| Pyromancer | You can only see these symbols once you reach Station 15. They create a static “hot zone” on the train where the corresponding symbol-objects remain, and any bonus values that land in or move into this zone are doubled. |
| Permanent Payer | Appears only once the train reaches Station 20. Only Payer and Persistent Payer can raise its value (those created by Necromancer or Arms Dealer do not count), and only with their first effect. It acts after all other features except tickets. |
As for Persistent Icons, only the Collector, Payer, Sniper, Collector Payer, Necromancer, Arms Dealer, and Bomber can be Persistent Icons. What makes them special is that they can trigger their effect on every new spin during the bonus round. So, the further you progress along the path between stations, the higher your chances of hitting the max multiplier.
Theme & Graphics
Money Train 5 is a game that makes a great impression right from the moment you launch it. The developers really went all out and created a full-length animated intro mini-film where you see the train and the game’s main characters. If you’re familiar with the series, you know it’s all about a bleak post-apocalyptic world. So the game grid is set inside a battered armored train car covered in rivets, scratches, graffiti featuring lightning bolts, and a radiation hazard symbol. In the background, you see smoking factory chimneys and a gray, polluted sky. The characters are also quite well-rendered, including a skeleton gunman in a hat with a cigar, a fighter in heavy gold armor and a gas mask, a soldier with a skull on his face wearing a sombrero, and a blonde woman in a blue hat wielding a futuristic weapon. If you’re used to playing simple fruit-themed slots, Money Train 5 will turn your perception of slots upside down in the best possible way. What’s important is that, despite all this visual richness, Money Train 5 runs smoothly on mobile devices.
Money Train 5 Free Play
This game offers a variety of bonus features and an incredible number of special symbols. So, while the 5x4 grid is fairly standard, it hides a lot of interesting elements that you’ll need to figure out how they work. The best way to do this is in the Money Train 5 free play version, where you bet free credits instead of real money. Although this is the latest release, which became available just a couple of days ago (at the time of writing), we already have the Money Train 5 demo available. So check out how all the features mentioned above work without risking anything right here on SlotCatalog.

Our Verdict
It looks like this time, Relax Gaming has released something that definitely won’t let you relax. And it’s immediately clear that Money Train 5 isn’t trying to be a slot for everyone. High volatility and an RTP of 96.10% mean that the base game serves as a warm-up, and the real money awaits you when you trigger the bonus features. Since payouts here are capped at a x20 multiplier, they should be viewed as a way to stay in the game as long as possible and wait for a bonus feature to trigger.
So, there’s an incredibly large number of bonus features here. But as for the ones that are actually useful, there are three. First, there’s the Enhanced Spin, where for +50% of your bet, the chance of triggering a bonus more than doubles, and this is a reasonable compromise for those who don’t want to pay a fortune to buy direct access to the bonus features. Second, buying FS for x100, which is essentially the most affordable way to reach the train board while benefiting from an increased RTP of up to 96.50%. Third, the stations within the bonus. Station 10 unlocks the additional row, while Bomber and Pyromancer join the party at Station 15 and Permanent Payer at Station 20, and it is this ladder that opens the road to the full x50,000 potential. As for the Bonus Reels at x10 and x25, these modes are better suited for those who like to speed things up and are willing to pay for it.
All in all, Money Train 5 is definitely not a game for beginners. And you should probably try the previous titles in the series before diving into this one. It’s best to play with small bets here and not rush to buy Ultra Super Free Spins for x2,000 if your bankroll can’t handle a losing streak. Better yet, test everything out in demo mode to figure out which you prefer: Enhanced Spins or buying FS. So, we’ve got a confident, challenging, and ambitious return to the series that clearly won’t disappoint Relax Gaming fans.
