Tower Bloxx, a block-stacking tower game, was initially created in 2005, and it has nothing to do with online gambling. However, recently, top-skilled software developers, like InOut Games, have been working on adapting the concept for their needs. The result is astonishing: a hybrid with a Step Multiplier mechanic and bonus features. The newest release in that genre by the aforementioned studio is Megablock Empire, and it hides more than you’d expect!

InOut Games is a rapidly expanding studio focusing on the development of instant win games. It was established in 2020 but became a certified B2B provider 4 years later. Now, InOut Games has nearly 100 released games and has won several major awards at prestigious iGaming events. I’m truly excited to see whether this studio will be in another several years!

Now back to the game, because Megablock Empire is actually a sequel to Megablock, released by the same provider in February. Megablock Empire is a type of Crash Game that very few providers can offer to iGaming enthusiasts. It blends old-school gaming with the opportunity of making a few bucks and the fun while doing it. Keep in mind that some of the highest multipliers can’t really be won with most of the betting tiers. So, try to calculate the risk and make clear decisions on whether to cash out or make another try. The Megablock Empire RTP rate is 95.50%, which is the same as with Megablock. The levels of volatility continue to be adjusted and are impossible to determine. The Megablock Empire max win is a massive €100,000.

Megablock Empire offers a few extra blocks that you must stack to complete each of the levels. It also has a Bonus Game, as I mentioned at the beginning of my review. Bonus Game

Golden Helmets with various country flags may randomly appear on any successfully dropped block. If that happens, they will be collected in a meter on the right. Megablock Empire offers a more polished setting and visuals overall compared to Megablock. It is no longer a construction site, and the guy with the big hands and hard hat has gone. Instead, the Building theme is organized around a picturesque site with a lot of trees on both sides and tall buildings on the back. The higher the tower becomes, the closer the router space and the stars become!

Megablock Empire includes blocks with different designs: Asian, European, South American, vaults, grocery shops, etc. It is nice to see the blend when you put a dozen or even more, one on top of the other. The even funnier thing is that they don’t have to be perfectly fitting to stand. On the contrary, they can find balance on a spot as wide as a hairspring.

Our Verdict

Megablock Empire brings the tower-building casino games to a new level, although the bonus game feels quite familiar. InOut already presented a huge number of non-slot games with free spins, like Jumper, for example. And although the mechanic is slightly different, the concept remains the same. In any case, having a bonus game and a way to purchase it is a huge advantage.

On the flip side, some of the Megablock’s weaknesses remain, like the fact that you can’t really cash out the biggest multipliers. A million multiplied by even the lowest bet of €0.12 makes €120,000, while the cap is €100,000. Moreover, the block-building mechanic is awesome, indeed, but it can be repetitive, even with the bonus at hand.

If you have second thoughts, I can recommend trying a few alternatives. Tower Rush by Galaxsys is great and offers 3 bonus rounds and a higher RTP rate. Tower X by Smartsoft Gaming, on the other hand, is more basic but offers different multipliers that come with different house types. And last but not least, InOut’s other September release, Tower Dash, might be the better pick due to the different bonus minigames.

All in all, Megablock Empire offers a different type of casino game experience and a solid base for various strategies. It has 4 difficulty tiers and an instant cash-out option before any drop. The payout potential is also mouth-watering since 100K is always high for a non-slot game. So, it seems that the provider has made another smart move, and I’ll be waiting for episode 3!
