Loot & Labyrinths Review

Loot & Labyrinths emerged on the slot scene at the beginning of April as another fantasy slot in the Play’N GO collection. This time, the provider has tried to craft a hybrid with a strong TTRPG vibe, and I'm confident that many fans of Dungeons & Dragons will find it appealing. But before checking the rule book, let's check on the layout.

Loot & Labyrinths is Play'N GO's debut in the tabletop role-playing game category, although the provider has solid experience with fantasy slots. In fact, just a few weeks ago, the studio presented Tower Quest Legacy, which is closer to a regular slot but also brings a heroic atmosphere and creative features.

Both games have an identical matrix of 5 reels and 3 rows, and feature the same payout system that generates 20 paylines. They are orientated from left to right and bring payouts for combinations of 3 or more symbols of a kind, starting from the leftmost reel. Autoplay, Fast Play, and a number of other tech tools are also in play.

Loot & Labyrinths mixes two scripts, allowing players to unlock new skins and progress in a way that's lightly related to the main play. The feature pack includes bonus games, multipliers, leveling up, free spins, and much more, which I'll reveal later in this review. Sadly, Bonus Buy is not yet on the provider's agenda, so we shall count on luck.

Loot & Labyrinths is an adventure that unites 4 heroes in their effort to defeat the Dragon. These brave explorers exist as regular individuals in the base game and as mighty warriors in the bonus stage. They pay different rewards and appear with different skins, like most of the symbols in the paytable actually.

During the main game, the Paladin pays from 2.50x to 10x, the Barbarian - 2x to 8x, the Rogue - 1.50x to 7x, and the Wizard awards between 1x and 6x the bet. The wild symbol appears in the form of a Sword and substitutes for all regular symbols. Wilds also pay the highest cash rewards if lined up - 3x, 20x, and 40x.

Four monsters occupy the low-valued symbol tiers, paying rewards between 0.10x and 1.50x the bet. Stakes in Loot & Labyrinths vary from €0.20 and €200 per spin, but I found different variations across online casinos, meaning that this element is configurable. If you are up for the high stakes, it might be worth checking this before registration.

The Loot & Labyrinths RTP ranges and reaches a maximum of 96.34%, which is quite decent given the high levels of volatility. It will be wise for players to avoid the alternative variants with payout rates of 94.39%, 91.40%, 87.40%, and 84.39%. The Hit Frequency coefficient has not been specified by the provider, but, in my opinion, it should be around 20 - 25%. The slot's max win is juicy - 20,000x the bet, but the chance of hitting it usually remains slim with Play'N GO.

Loot & Labyrinths is all about dice, ranks, skins, features, and defeating monsters. So far, we have explored the simpler part of the game, and in the following lines, you can discover the most exciting realm. Keep in mind that the game remains an online slot, so most bonuses lack the action that everyone would have been expecting from a virtual RPG.

Dice & Hero Ranks

The Character Sheet is located in the upper left corner of the grid and displays the current player's rank and the progress of the active task. Each level comes with an assignment, like the collection of 5 wilds, 7 scatters, or achieving 10 line wins. Click on the sheet to open it and see the locked and unlocked dice skins and hero ranks.

The Level Up mechanic has no actual reflection over your winning chances. The concept is fully cosmetic and aims to make the gameplay more exciting. The rank Dragonslayer is exclusive, and it is awarded only to those players who manage to defeat the Dragon in the Dungeon Free Spins.

Random Encounter Bonus Games

Loot & Labyrinths provides 3 random Bonus Games, which trigger with the appearance of the Random Encounter symbol. A set of symbols on the same row will activate one of the minigames listed below. They come with different payout potentials and require a certain number on the 20-sided dice.

• Monster Attack - pays 10x to 50x - combination of adventurers and monsters.
• Treasure Lair - pays 15x to 75x - monsters only.
• Tavern Night - pays 20x to 100x - adventurers only.

At the beginning of a bonus game, you have to roll a dice, and its difficulty depends on the monsters on the board. They have different strengths from 3 to 6 displayed beneath the avatars. Adventurers, on the other hand, deliver dice bonuses of +1 for each one, and they can stack. If the result is 20 or more, you get a bonus multiplier and roll again to win up to 5 times the random prize.

Dungeon Free Spins Bonus

Scatters land on reels 2, 3, and 4 only and if you land 3 at the same time, you'll activate the Free Spins bonus. At the beginning, you must choose 3 buffs to get upgrades:

• Golden Artifact - selects a random Adventurer and turns it into a wild symbol.
• Lady Death - removes the lowest-paying Monster symbol from the reels for the duration of Free Spins.
• Forgotten Temple - adds 5 extra free spins.
• Abandoned Altar - adds 3 extra free spins.

Dungeon Free Spins starts with 10 free rounds plus all that you managed to get from the random buffs. Keep in mind that they can repeat while selecting one from two mystery picks until you get three. The minigame has a special enhancement - a bonus multiplier in the form of a trail that shows Dragons Health.

If you land an Adventurer symbol with a special Attack overlay symbol, one Dragon Health point will be removed. That will also increase the total bonus win multiplier - x2, x5, x20, and x100. Three scatters during the bonus add 10 extra free spins. This bonus has the potential to pay the slot's top prize of 20,000x!

Theme & Graphics

Loot & Labyrinths starts with an intro video telling an epic story of how the mighty Dragon has devastated the land. This is an incredibly effective way for the provider to introduce players to its online slots. Moreover, Play'N GO is a master of the Adventurous theme and has numerous slots in its library featuring various expeditions, journeys, and voyages into the unknown.

Perhaps it's unnecessary to say that the quality of graphics, animations, and artwork elements is premium. The audio package inserts dramatism into the epicness of the battle and, along with that, keeps the fantasy vibe alive during the base game. The slot is mobile-friendly and compatible with all devices, including Android and iOS phones and tablets.

Pros And Cons Of Loot & Labyrinths Slot

Our Verdict

Loot & Labyrinths is the closest online slot to a tabletop role-playing game that I have had the pleasure of testing. It comes with rules and magic, offering 60 hero ranks and numerous side quests. Just like Dungeon & Dragons, you have to roll a dice and hope to defeat the monsters to put your hands on the loot.

And the big sack is heavy, offering 20,000 times your stake! However, the max win probability remains scarce - 1 in 500 million spins on average. Indeed, the chance is much higher compared to other Play'N GO slots, but still, it's not particularly attractive. On the flip side, I must highlight the multiple bonus features, battles, and the free spins script.

Some might argue that the genre line is too complex, and they will be right, but the initial purpose of this game is not to be simple. Moreover, a few hundred test spins will reveal pretty much all of the Loot & Labyrinths agenda, and SlotCatalog's free demo is the perfect way to do that!

If you need some alternatives, the provider has plenty, and I have sorted several titles. The The Sword and the Grail Excalibur is perhaps the best of them, offering a hefty purse of 25,000x, amazing audio-visuals, and several awesome bonuses. My personal favorites are the Wild Multipliers and Wandering Wilds.

Champions of Mithrune is another heroic slot adventure by Play'N GO that is worth the spin. Four champions are in play and can bring magical enhancements to your play before eventually awarding the 7,500x max win. And that jackpot is much easier to obtain by the way. Cloud Quest is the last on my list, but not the least by any means. It is an older game (2016) by the provider with medium volatility and a max RTP of 96.52%. It features 5 characters who can level up and bring more to the playground. Moreover, the creativity in the features easily ranks Cloud Quest among the best Play'N GO grid slots ever! The conclusion of all this is that Loot & Labyrinths has a massive competition, but fans of the fantastic games and D&D must have at least a few spins!
