Junkyard Kings 2 is late April’s slot release of Bullshark Games and a sequel to Junkyard Kings from 2024. The original was inspired by the cell-multiplier mechanic on a cascading cluster-win grid, which we’ve seen on other occasions. The new one does not alter the engine, but adds some extras to the wild bonus effects. Moreover, it offers higher volatility and a boosted win cap!

Bullshark Games is an Estonian developing studio founded in Tallinn in 2023. It became the second partner of Hacksaw Gaming in 2025, part of the OpenRGS program. For a relatively short time, Bullshark Games proved to the audience its ability to craft visually striking slots with solid mechanics and engaging features. It was nominated multiple times and even managed to scoop some minor industry awards. The studio was shortlisted for SlotCatalog’s “Rookie of the Year” at the prestigious SBC Awards Europe 2025.

Well, at least not downgraded, as it has boosted some of the wild symbols to offer new effects. Only one of them requires a certain scatter combination to come into play. Cell Multipliers

At the beginning of a round, base or bonus, all cells on the grid do not have multipliers. Those that are part of winning clusters get x2 initial multipliers, which increase by +1 for every other cluster that they become part of. Cascades in the game work as usual: winning symbols are removed, the rest fall down to fill out the gaps, and new ones come from above.

Each grid cell can have a max multiplier of x100! If more than one cell with a multiplier participates in the same cluster, the multiplier values are added together before applying to the win. Cell multipliers are progressive but reset between base game spins.

Wild Symbols & Features

Besides normal wilds, Junkyard Kings 2 is packed with 4 other wild symbols, the first 3 of which are available in all game stages. Booster Wild adds an additive multiplier of x2, x3, x4, x5, or x10, or a multiplicative multiplier of x2. It does that to the cell it lands upon before any cluster wins are evaluated. Then, it moves on, leaving a regular wild behind. If such a symbol lands on a cell without a multiplier, it sets its additive one as an initial multiplier or its multiplicative one as x2.

Permanent Booster Wild is sticky for the entire spin or feature, and remains on the grid after it has increased the cell multiplier. It also moves to a new position that has been part of the same winning combination. While moving, it applies new additive or multiplicative values. Permanent Booster Wilds can’t move on scatters or other special wild symbols.

Walking Wild will move a random number of steps between 2 and 10, creating a trail of normal wilds. It can’t go through special wilds or scatter symbols, so if there is no other valid move, it will stop even if it hasn’t used all of the assigned steps. Permanent Walking Wild is only active during the bonus games, but can’t land during cascades. It activates only one per free spin, landing on a new cell and creating a new trail of wilds.

Bonus Game - Junkyard Jive

Junkyard Jive is the first Junkyard Kings 2 bonus, and it starts if you have 3 scatter symbols in view after the last cascade. You will receive 10 free spins and another extra round for every scatter you see during the minigame. Junkyard Jive keeps the same base game mechanics, but also cell multipliers are progressive and persistent. In other words, they do not reset between rounds!

Bonus Game - Rule the Yard

Rule the Yard is the second-tier bonus of the game, and it requires 4 scatter symbols. The initial length is the same (10), and scatters add new free rounds if in view (+1). Rule the Yard uses the Junkyard Jive and guarantees at least one Permanent Booster Wild or Permanent Walking Wild on the first free spin.

Theme & Graphics

Junkyard Kings 2 brings the action inside a foundry of some kind, where the “real” king of the metal scraps is. Junkyard Kings presented a bunch of terrifying rats with glowing eyes and insatiable hunger for … garbage. The new slot comes in the same, if not better, cartoonish style with crispier graphics, better audio-visual performance, and a new character.

A raccoon stands on the left side of the grid, carrying a “King” crown made of a bucket, a plunger instead of scepter, and a single boot. There is a metal incinerator in the back, which comes to operate in full power during the bonus game. It is all much more sophisticated than in the original game, and I suppose episode 2 reveals the true nature of the junkyard business.

Junkyard Kings 2 offers a payout system that has proven to be even more potent than the original game. Moreover, most of the top-rated online slots with cell multipliers, like the iconic Sugar Rush by Pragmatic Play, pay less than the cap here. Still, hitting a 20,000x total multiplier still seems to be heavy lifting, so you need to keep it more real. Luckily, the title offers plenty of options and premium entertainment.

I like the way Bullshark Games has increased the powers of wild symbols, adding additive and multiplicative options. Doubling Wilds are also good, but Booster Wilds are next level! However, the biggest potential comes with the Permanent Walking Wilds, especially in the Rule the Yard minigame.
