Jack and the Beanstalk 2 Review

NetEnt brought Jack back on September 17, 2026. His first adventure with the studio goes back to 2011. This isn't the same young Jack, though. He's older, works for GOAT Enterprise and has Goaty Mc Goatface as a boss. Even the magic beans have been dragged into the corporate world, with crypto and shareholder value now part of the joke.

This time, the reels are set up in a 5x5 grid, with 25 fixed paylines running across it. The beans don't pay much; Jack sits at the other end of the paytable. Five Jacks pay 25x the bet. Five Goaty symbols come close at 20x.

One thing I was glad to see again was the Walking Wild. It can land on any reel except the first and comes with a 3x multiplier. That starts a Re-Spin, then the Wild takes a step to the left. More can turn up before the sequence is over, and later Wilds may be bigger than the first one. The largest stack covers five positions.

Bonus Spins don't work much like the base game. You start with three Golden Bean Coins on the grid and five spins to work with. Walking Rockets are important here because they can move across a Bean and triple its value. Then you have Collector, Sharer, Spreader and Upgrade symbols changing what happens to the Coins. There's a Super Bonus version as well.

Elevate sits next to the regular game controls. Some of its options simply make the bonus more likely to appear; the more expensive ones open Bonus Spins or Super Bonus Spins straight away. I'll break those down properly in the Features section.

Jack and the Beanstalk 2 Features

Most of the action starts once a Wild or one of the bonus symbols appears. The Walking Wilds will feel familiar if you've played the first game, but the Golden Beans and Rockets add quite a bit more to deal with in the bonus.

Walking Wild Re-Spins

The first reel is the only one where you won't see a Wild. On the other four, it can take up anything from one to five positions and comes with a 3x multiplier.

Landing a Wild starts a Re-Spin. Before that Re-Spin begins, the Wild moves one reel to the left. New Wilds can appear along the way, and these are larger than the previous one until the five-symbol stack is reached. The sequence keeps going for as long as at least one Wild remains on the reels.

There's another useful detail when several Wilds help form the same win: their multipliers are added together rather than applied separately.

Mystery Wilds

Mystery Wilds don't need anything special to trigger them. The feature can kick in randomly at the beginning of a regular spin.

When it does, the game picks a Wild level from 2 to 5. Wilds of that level can then land on the reels, which may also get the Walking Wild Re-Spins going.

Bonus Spins

Three Bonus symbols collected in the same round give 5 Bonus Spins. The collection resets after every round, so you can't slowly build towards the feature over several regular spins.

The bonus starts with three Golden Bean Coins placed on the grid. Each Bean has one of these values:

• 2x
• 3x
• 5x
• 10x

Those values matter because the rest of the bonus is largely about building up the Beans before the spins run out.

Walking Rockets and Upgrade

Walking Rockets can appear anywhere except reel 1. Like the Walking Wilds, they move one reel to the left during Re-Spins and eventually disappear off the grid. If a Rocket lands or moves over a Golden Bean Coin, that Bean's value is multiplied by 3x.

Upgrade symbols make the Rockets larger. They go into a meter, with four stages:

• 3 Upgrades: Rockets become 2 symbols high
• 6 Upgrades: 3 symbols high
• 9 Upgrades: 4 symbols high
• 12 Upgrades: 5 symbols high

Reaching any of those stages also adds one Bonus Spin. Upgrade symbols don't appear during Super Bonus Spins.

Collector, Sharer and Spreader

Three more symbols can change the Golden Beans already on the grid.

Collector takes the values from all Golden Beans currently showing. It then leaves a new Bean in its own position with the combined value.

Sharer gives every Golden Bean already on the reels a boost. This can be 1x, 2x, 3x, 5x or 10x. It also turns into a Golden Bean itself, carrying the same value it just shared.

Spreader works differently. It puts between one and eight new Golden Beans into empty positions next to it, then leaves another Bean where the Spreader landed. If the surrounding positions are already occupied, only that last Bean is added.

Super Bonus Spins

For the Super Bonus, one of the three triggering symbols has to be a Super Bonus. You get 5 spins again, with three Golden Beans already on the grid. All three Golden Beans start at 10x.

The bigger change is with the Walking Rockets. Every Rocket is already five symbols high, so there's no Upgrade feature to work through.

Once either type of Bonus Spins ends, the values of all Golden Bean Coins left on the grid are added together and included in the total win.

Elevate Feature

Elevate gives you four ways to change how you enter the bonus. Two increase the chances of triggering it naturally, while the other two start a bonus immediately:

• Bonus Hunt: costs 1.5x the regular bet and doubles the chance of triggering Bonus or Super Bonus Spins.
• Bonus Hunt Extreme: costs 10x the bet and gives a 20x higher chance.
• Bonus Spins: costs 75x the bet and opens the regular Bonus Spins feature.
• Super Bonus Spins: costs 250x the bet and takes you straight to Super Bonus Spins.

The RTP changes with the Elevate option you pick. Pick Bonus Spins and you're playing at 96.15% RTP. Bonus Hunt Extreme has a slightly better figure, 96.45%. Regular play is 96.32%.

Theme & Graphics

The old fairytale setting is pretty much gone. Jack now spends his time at GOAT Enterprise, in an office sitting high above the clouds. Goaty Mc Goatface is there too, looking every bit like the boss Jack would rather not have.

NetEnt has gone for a colourful cartoon style, with plenty of jokes about office life, crypto and chasing profits. The symbols fit that idea as well. Alongside Jack and Goaty, you'll see beans, a coffee mug, rockets and other bits of corporate nonsense across the reels.

The bonus changes the look again. The office makes way for a darker screen filled with Golden Beans, rockets and trading-chart graphics. It's a nice fit for the feature and, more importantly, makes it immediately clear that you're no longer playing the regular game.

Jack and the Beanstalk 2 keeps the Walking Wilds that made the first game stand out, but builds a much busier bonus around them. Here's what I liked and what may not work for everyone.

Our Verdict

Jack and the Beanstalk 2 doesn't feel like NetEnt simply brought the old slot back with new graphics. The Walking Wilds are still the part I enjoyed most, especially once several of them get moving across the reels, but there's much more going on in the bonus this time. Compared to Jack and the Beanstalk, the 2011 original, the sequel is busier and adds a lot more around that familiar Wild mechanic.

The Golden Beans can build into some interesting rounds when Rockets, Collector or Spreader start working together. I also like that the Super Bonus changes more than just the starting values. With a 20,000x top win and high volatility, though, this is definitely the more aggressive Jack and the Beanstalk of the two.
