If you think the title of this game is a bit odd, wait until you try the free Hundreds and Thousands demo (located at the top of this page). Reel Kingdom has created a retro-inspired money-themed game that somehow manages to tip its hat to their ultra-popular Big Bass franchise, despite not being remotely related in terms of gameplay or features. The bearded fisherman is now also a capitalist, and to drive the point home, a neon sign fisherman is also included on the splash screen.

Anyway, you start by choosing your preferred bet level between €0.05 and €250 per spin, catering to penny punters as well as high rollers. You win by landing matching symbols across up to 100 paylines, but only 5 of a kind wins are possible in the Hundreds and Thousands slot. Outside of their wildly successful Big Bass range, Reel Kingdom keeps delivering one oddball release after another. The Hundreds and Thousands slot is a highly unorthodox game, but not really in an intriguing or even engaging way. It’s a bit of a paradox that this Pragmatic Play partner is dominating the top of our best online slots chart, currently holding both the number one and two spots, yet struggles to release anything noteworthy outside of their flagship series.

Including the bearded fisherman as a neon sign on the splash screen is a strange choice for this release, not least since the green-suited capitalist character already looks a lot like him. What exactly are they trying to say with this image? Let’s go fish for cash in a Vegas bank vault? I have no idea, but with enough success, you can get away with anything. I doubt Hundreds and Thousands will make a huge splash, though, and the best thing about this game is the 1 in 35 spins bonus round hit rate. Paying extra for an unspecified increase in the bonus hit rate seems kind of pointless, although the base game gets tedious rather quickly.

Unlike most slot games out there, Hundreds and Thousands comes with an abundance of blank ‘0’ symbols whose sole job is to occupy prime ‘reel estate’ and block wins. I guess this is needed to balance out the math model when you only have 2 winning symbols, as well as the free spins triggering symbol. Needless to say, you should hardly expect all that much from the base game, as this game is clearly focused on the bonus round.

Being able to win up to 100 free spins is nice, and the free spin symbols tend to land in abundance when you trigger the feature. However, the only difference from the base game is the x2 win multiplier, and it’s hardly a pulse raiser when you know the max win is only 2,000x your stake. Granted, the 1 in 249,744 spins hit rate is solid, but there simply isn’t enough here to make the experience itself entertaining and fun. If you're craving something different, by all means, give Hundreds and Thousands a spin, but expect to tire closer to a hundred spins, not a thousand.
