Forever Split Megaways

Forever Split Megaways Review

Vampires, undead creatures, part of global folklore, have been common personages in the iGaming universe. Scripts usually reveal love stories, passion, drama, and loss. Well, Pragmatic Play, in its distinguished style, has decided to bring another aspect of these unholy creatures. Forever Split Megaways shows what would happen if a vampire couple finds themselves in a situation involving infidelity and deceit.

Pragmatic Play is one of those game development studios set to entertain players for eternity. The studio was established a decade and some years ago, but already has nearly, if not more than, 1,000 games. Most of the content falls in the online slot category, as usual, and enthusiasts will find plenty of iconic series and one-time releases. Pragmatic Play crafted Vampire-themed games before, like Haunted Crypt and Bloody Dawn, but nothing so polished and romantic so far.

Love and hate go hand in hand, and the line between them is surprisingly thin. Forever Split Megaways offers several surprises as well, and I’ll start with the layout and payout system. The grid consists of 6 vertical and 2 horizontal reels, of which the verticals spin as usual, while the horizontals spin from right to left. Reel 1 can have between 2 and 5 symbols, reel 6 can have up to 6 positions, and reels 2, 3, 4, and 5 can have up to 5 symbols and 2 from the top and bottom horizontals, so between 4 and 7 on every spin.

All that is powered by a Megaways mechanic that generates up to 72,030 ways to win and which is enhanced by a Tumble Feature. Fans of the payout system will agree that both the layout and ways to win are unusual for the engine. The game is also packed with a cleverly-invented Settlement Multiplier Feature and a Free Spins bonus. Test them both along with all the other extras via the Forever Split Megaways demo.

Forever Split Megaways Slot - Game Screen

Forever Split Megaways pays for 3 to 6 symbols of the same type, and win ways start from the leftmost side of the grid and continue to the right. Symbols must be on adjacent reels, and when they pay, they also activate tumbles. Winning symbols disappear, the rest fall down, and new ones come from above to potentially continue the tumbling sequence.

A male and a female character, the alleged lovers of the main vampire characters, pay the most: 1x to 10x and 0.50x to 5x the bet. Diamond necklaces follow with 0.25x to 2.50x, alongside luxury watches - 0.25x to 2x, opulent rings - 0.25x to 1.50x, and photos - 0.20x to 1x. The low pays are A, K, Q, and J, delivering between 0.10x and 0.75x the bet. Stakes start at €0.20 and reach €240 per spin, up to a huge €720 via the special bets.

The Forever Split Megaways RTP ranges and goes as high as 96.58%, which is quite healthy, given the medium levels of volatility. The Hit Frequency rate is slightly lower than expected - 20.28% or 1 in 4.93 spins on average. It might decrease a little via the 95.49% and 94.50% RTP versions. The Forever Split Megaways max win is worth the effort - 10,000x the bet.

Forever Split Megaways Features

At first glance, Forever Split Megaways does not offer fundamental changes to the payout engine in terms of special features. Cascades, multipliers, and free spins are the usual package among Megaways. But Pragmatic Play introduced an intriguing multiplier-delivering system labeled Settlement Multiplier. Check out how it works and what else is in for you in the following paragraphs:

Settlement Multiplier Feature

During the base game, each symbol on the horizontal rows can carry a random multiplier from a predefined set. It can be either x1, x2, x3, x5, x8, x10, or x15, and all these multipliers feed a total Settlement Multiplier. Eventually, it keeps growing throughout all the tumbles during the spin. At its end, the total win will be boosted by the Settlement Multiplier.

Free Spins Bonus

If you land enough scatter symbols during a base game spin, you’ll get the bonus. Scatters can land anywhere on the vertical reels, but not on the extra positions brought by the top and bottom horizontals. Three scatter symbols award 10 free spins and every one beyond the 3rd adds 5 more rounds. The Settlement Multiplier mechanic works as usual but with two major upgrades.

First, all symbols on the top and bottom reels are guaranteed to have multipliers. And secondly, the Settlement Multiplier is progressive and persistent. It won’t reset to zero after a free spin. Scatters did not continue to hit the reels during the bonus, so I guess that retriggers are not in the menu.

Special Bets & Buy Feature

Special Bets improve the odds of activating the Free Spins bonus, and you might consider using one of them. The triggering probability is set at a very high level - 1 in 343.18 spins on average. Ante Bet 1 will add 50% to the selected bet and will increase the chance of activating the bonus by 2. Ante Bet 2 will triple the selected wager and will increase the odds by 5. Buy Feature provides 2 direct bonus entries at the displayed prices:

• Free Spins - 100x the bet - standard bonus.
• Super Free Spins - 500x the bet - minimum multiplier is x2.

Theme & Graphics

Forever Split Megaways not only has an offbeat Vampire theme, but it tells a story for those who care to watch. At first glance, you have a couple on the two sides of a table. She is a stunning pale blonde, while he is elegant and masculine. They are both accompanied by a man and a woman, who look like their associates or lawyers. But if you watch the intros after big wins or at the start/end of the bonus, you’ll soon figure out that those are their lovers.

So, the plot in Forever Split Megaways is infidelity, hatred, and divorce, if that latter is even possible between immortals. The tension finds its peak and vampires show their true nature during the Free Spins bonus, when they get aggressive stands against each other. The animation effects in the game and the voiceover are unique and well-placed, in my opinion.

In general, the online slot comes with polished visuals, including the graphics and artwork. Tunes and melodies reminiscent of another series that tell the love between vampires and humans. As always, Pragmatic Play crafts casino games with mobile gamblers in mind. So, the machine here is fully compatible with Android or iOS devices.

Pros And Cons Of Forever Split Megaways Slot

Our Verdict

Forever Split Megaways is surprisingly entertaining once you start spinning the reels. However, keep in mind that the premium audio-visuals have taken their toll, and the game is not the lightest I’ve tested. If you use an older device or your browser hasn't been updated recently, you might experience certain lag and discomfort. The effort, however, is totally worth it after all.

Fans of gothic and vampire-themed online slots are surely well-aware of the Immortal Romance series. That is perhaps the best casino game scenario ever written and developed with such passion. But there, it was the romance that took the focus, while here it’s rather hatred. Pragmatic Play seems to have hit the bullseye once again with the Settlement Multiplier mechanic and the story itself.

Forever Split Megaways comes with solid and balanced maths and a win cap that fits the all. There are better shaped Megaways layouts and, to be honest, this is the first slot I test with 72,030 ways. But the combination between the engine and the multiplier mechanic is applaudable. Free Spins bring the action on a new level with the growingly persistent Multiplier and the guaranteed symbol multipliers, even if they proved to be not well-displayed. I guess the provider has pulled the right strings, and only time will tell whether this plot will get a continuation!
