Finally, NoLimit City delivers a proper sequel to their popular Duck Hunters, instead of the rehash that was Duck Hunters Happy Hour. Duck Hunters 2 takes you from the trashy redneck backyard into the deep woods, and it’s close to looking like a serious duck hunting game if it was not for all the whacky characters populating the reels. This backwoods family are being hunted themselves this time, as the ducks have armed themselves with, of all things, flamethrowers. The stage is set for a feather-flying showdown, but let’s cover the basics first.

Duck Hunters 2 plays out on a 6x5 grid, just like the original, and you win when at least 8 matching symbols land anywhere in view. This is known as scatter pay or pay anywhere wins, and you can place bets ranging from £0.20 to £100 per spin. The premium symbols consist of the 5 characters, while the lower-value symbols consist of flamethrower ducks, flamethrowers, canned meat, walking duck eggs, and slingshots. The Bomb symbol explodes before the next cascade, removing itself together with all symbols above it on the same reel. The Bomb position multiplier gets an x2 boost, and this boost doubles for each position above where the Bomb symbol exploded. If the Bomb symbol exploded at the bottom position, the position multipliers of that reel are boosted by x2, x4, x8, x16, x32, and x64 from bottom to top, respectively.

Duck Hunters 2 continues the humorous redneck satire parade but with a supercharged math model combined with an overload of features. I like that you’re taken into the forest this time, as the backyard setting was beginning to wear thin after the somewhat underwhelming Duck Hunters Happy Hour follow-up release. At least Duck Hunters 2 feels like a proper sequel, although it can be argued whether it actually brings the series in a new direction. That being said, there is no doubt this release takes things to the next level.

The doubling position multipliers still take center stage, as expected, and they now top out at an eye-watering x16,384 compared to x8,192 in the original game. This adds even more tension to each cascading sequence, as you never know how the multipliers will pop. This is the secret sauce that has made the doubling position multiplier concept so popular, and the unpredictability element is cranked up to the max in Duck Hunters 2, thanks to the enhanced bomb symbol feature. Before, it simply doubled adjacent position multipliers, but now, it can blow up entire reels with boosts of up to x64.

Cascades can quickly escalate into explosive chain reactions, and there is a whole jungle of side hustles to explore in addition to the plentiful feature and bonus buy menu.
