Our Verdict

When it comes to design, I have to say PoggiPlay really impressed me. It’s absolutely top-notch, not your typical chicken game setup, but something new and, most importantly, fun. Styling the chicken as an Indiana Jones lookalike and swapping the chaotic highway for a swamp filled with lily pads and a gator is exactly the kind of variety this genre needed. I really appreciate when developers take a creative approach like this.

Gameplay-wise, it’s nice and straightforward. There isn’t a lot to talk about, though, as we’ve seen this format many times before. You simply guide your chicken forward, collecting increasing multipliers with every step, until you either cash out or make it to the Golden Egg. There’s nothing new. Even that Golden Egg idea was definitely ‘inspired’ by InOut Games’ Chicken Road.

Compared to the competition, Chicken Run is clearly a simpler alternative. As I mentioned earlier, you won’t find any advanced customization here. There’s no dual betting, no autoplay, and no autocashout options. But honestly, that’s OK. It plays well, it looks fantastic, and in the end, I had a genuinely fun time with it. For me, that’s more than enough reason to come back.
