It was good fun being reunited with the charming duo, but also a reminder of how quickly time flies by. The intro, where the “dice dog” comes swooshing back with the bone they threw away, only for the scene to shift into a thunderstorm when the mummy makes its entry from the ground, is both captivating and funny, setting the mood perfectly.

Most of the time, Bill and Coin simply stand there, looking cool with their ancient Egyptian garments. However, the dice dog is far more active, running around on top of the sphinx in the background and suddenly appearing in front of the reels. This makes the game come alive even more than the original, and, of course, you also get fun reactions from Bill and Coin whenever something significant happens on the reels.

The coin wins feature seems a tad superfluous in the base game, and it seldom amounts to much. Why? Because you seldom get longer cascading sequences that allow the coins to drop down to the bottom collection row, which means the coins simply occupy prime “reel estate” most of the time.
