This seems to be the motto in Peter & Son’s metal-infused post-apocalyptic redneck extragovanza. Wild 1 comes with a simpler cartoonish presentation than we’ve seen from this developer for a while, but it’s still a recognizable production by Peter and his beloved sons.

The 6x4 grid is set in a mud-filled junkyard of some kind, and the red-bearded, turquoise-skinned guitarist is chained to a plateau on the left-hand side. He provides action commentary that sounds like the improvised vocals to a honky tonk metal song, and you need to upgrade the Wild Reel to tier 3 to squeeze the most out of this release. This also increases your likelihood of cracking the 5,000x potential.

The premium symbols pay between 0.8 and 3 x your stake for 6 of a kind wins, and you get 4 different wild types that all substitute for pay symbols. Regular Wilds simply step in for pay symbols to help complete wins, like all wilds do. Expanding Wilds cover full reels, while Unbreakable Wilds remain in play for the whole cascading sequence. Multiplier Wilds come with multipliers up to x10, and they boost whatever wins they are part of.

The Bonus Round triggers when you land 3 scatters anywhere in view, and this awards 10 free spins. Each extra triggering scatter above the minimum of 3 gives you +1 extra spin on top of the minimum of 10. Review Summary

Kudos to Peter and his Sons for continuing to experiment with different visuals styles, and Wild 1 takes you back to the developer’s more simple cartoonish roots in that regard. The honky tonk metal soundtrack with action commentary vocals adds to the uniqueness of the post-apocalyptic presentation, and there is a certain redneck charm hanging over the whole thing.

Once the Wild Reel has been upgraded to the top-tier, there are plenty of modifier wilds coming your way on a regular basis. A bit of patience might be required to get there, but the game is much more fun when firing on all cylinders. Everything is taken up a notch in the bonus round, but the advertised 10,000x potential seems hard to crack since only 5,000x was achieved only once in 1 billion simulated spins.
