Our Verdict

Whether you’re a fan of Asian-themed slots or just looking for a mobile-first session, Wild Fireworks delivers a visually pleasing experience that fits the handheld format like a glove. This is PG Soft’s specialty, after all: on-the-go gaming usually involving cascading reels and some kind of multiplier action. The multiplier element has been somewhat toned down in this release, though, as the main focus is on stacked wilds.

The atmosphere is thick with festive vibes, from the floating lanterns to the exploding symbols that mimic the fireworks you see in the night sky above the reels. It’s a clean and well-executed theme that does not pretend to be anything more than what it is. Not all slot games have to be overly complicated, and Wild Fireworks definitely lives up to its title, if nothing else. It’s all up to what you are in the mood for, and sometimes simple, stacked wild action is all you need to have a good time.

The stacked wilds are limited to the 3 rightmost reels, though, which does put a damper on the experience, at least to a certain degree. You need to land matching symbols on at least reels 1, 2, and 3 to benefit from the stacked wilds, depending on which reel or reels you land the stacked wilds on. It would’ve been more intriguing if you could land stacked wilds on all 5 reels, but that would probably have tilted the math model towards more volatility.

PG Soft obviously wanted to deliver a somewhat casual experience with Wild Fireworks, as indicated by the medium volatility. Things are elevated to a new level in the bonus round, though, as nudging wilds filling reels while remaining in play until part of a win can deliver decent to solid payouts. You still need winning lines to reach the wilds, though, but chances are definitely increased this way. An advertised max win of 20,000x borders on misleading when the actual max exposure from 1 billion spins is only 1,356x, but at least the 96.75% RTP is above average. I will probably not return for more, but I still had a decent time testing Wild Fireworks.
