Rabcat released their first online slot all the way back in 2013, and they have only 30 slots in their catalog to this day. That’s not exactly a massive production over the last 10 years, but they are known for biding their time to release something unique and innovative each time. This is hardly the case with Star Fever Link and Win, however, as this game comes with the common and classic fruit machine theme.

The Link&Win feature is also well-known in the world of online slots, although Rabcat has put their original spin on it to a certain degree. You get a Star Coin wild transformation respin feature in the base game, and it can also produce x3 multiplier wilds under certain conditions. The main attraction is the Link&Win Respins round, of course, and it comes with 2 booster symbols and jackpot symbols, as well as a 1,000x full grid Mega jackpot.

The premium symbols pay between 15 and 30 x your stake, and the Wild symbol steps in for any pay symbol to help complete and/or improve line wins. The Wild also pays the same as the top-tier diamond symbol, should you land a win with nothing but wild symbols.

The Wild cannot substitute for the Star Coin symbol, however, and the star coins can land anywhere on the grid. You need 4 to 5 star coin symbols in view to trigger the Star Wild feature, while 6+ in view anywhere on the grid awards the Link & Win Respins round.

The Star Wild feature triggers from 4-5 star coins in view, as mentioned, and all the triggering symbols turn into wilds. The wilds become sticky for a respin, and if 3 star coins landed on the same reel they turn into x3 multiplier wilds. The multiplier wilds will boost any line wins they partake in.

The Link & Win Respins round triggers from 6+ star coins in view, and you start with 3 respins with the triggering symbols sticky on a cleared grid. Only blanks, new star symbols, jackpot bonus symbols, or booster symbols will appear during this feature, and any non-blank symbol resets the spin tally to 3 each time. All symbols that land become sticky, bar the booster symbols which are removed before the next spin. Here is an overview of the symbols:

• x2 Multiplier Booster - doubles the value of all star coin prizes in view.

Review Summary

Rabcat is not a developer that churns out new slots every month, or even every 3 months, but they usually drop something quite unique when it finally happens. It’s been around 6 months since their last release, and it’s a bit surprising that they decided to go with something as generic as Star Fever Link & Win. The fruit slot presentation is a dime a dozen, and there are plenty of Link&Win installments out there from before under the Games Global umbrella.

That being said, there is always room for another one, and Star Fever Link & Win isn’t too shabby considering the math model. The Star Coin wild and multiplier wild transformation system can lead to decent top-up wins in the base game, and perhaps more on rare occasions. The Booster system and the jackpot symbols can close you in on the 12,400x potential, but the 1,000x full grid jackpot isn’t all that impressive. This is hardly up there with North Storm or Tesla’s Incredible Machine, and we hope Rabcat does something more unique next time.
