Well, not anymore, as Rome Fight For Gold fills that position perfectly. However, we have to be frank about the fact that this is a reskin of The Great Albini 2. The good news is that non-mobile players will be able to see more details this time, which was not the case in the original game.

The 5x4 grid is semi-transparent, so you get a decent view of a packed Colosseum. You can’t see any gladiator action, however, and the main attraction in the base game is the Coin Collection feature. The Great Albini 2 was not a bad effort at all, but non-mobile players needed a magnifying glass to catch any details. This problem has been amended in this reskin job by Foxium, but the Colosseum audience seems far more interested in what goes on in the arena than on the 5x4 grid. The base game is kept interesting by the cash coin collect feature, and with a proper multiplier you can land decent to solid payouts also in the main game.

Visually, the game is somewhat engaging, but there is no gladiator action like in some other ancient Rome installments. Antonius the gladiator gives you a somewhat cheesy thumbs up at the end of the bonus round though, and both him and Helena do spice the feature up with their modifiers. It’s not exactly Money Train level action, but still above many run of the mill hold and win efforts. Overall, Rome Fight For Gold is a decent game, but nothing too memorable either.
