Lu Lingqi was born of Lu Bu by Diao Chan, his concubine. In AD 197, Yuan Shu wanted his son Yuan Yao to marry her, so he sent Han Yin to request Lu Bu’s acceptance. He was killed, and the offer was refused. Yet one year later, cornered at Xiapi Castle by Liu Bei and Cao Cao, he decided to send her in a carriage to Yuan Shu to gain an army from him. However, Zhang Fei slew her escorts and killed her.

Lu Lingqi’s reprises her previous role in Dynasty Warriors 9, and she still manages to outlive her father past Xiapi. Meeting with Zhang Liao after the battle, she is allowed to practice with her late father’s halberd before it is sent to Xuchang. Remembering that though she was never trained by her father, who never wanted her to fight, she would’ve still been scolded for not committing to whatever path she chose for herself. Bidding farewell to her father’s legacy, Lu Lingqi promises to continue on fighting and to survive through the war.

In Shu’s Story Mode, Lu Lingqi is first seen guarding Xiapi after her father took it over following duping Zhang Fei into getting drunk, thus making it easier to claim the castle. Though she is overpowered, Lu Bu makes it clear Xu Province is his now and orders Liu Bei and his sworn brothers to clear out. She later joins Zhang Liao with guarding Liu Bei’s escape route after learning he intends to retreat to meet up with Cao Cao in Xuchang, but can be duped into abandoning her post by taking out Chen Gong in Xiapi, forcing her to re-position herself there, leaving only Zhang Liao to guard the way to Xuchang.
