Hat Trick Hero Review

Betsoft is well-known for their 3D cinematographic visual presentation, but none of that shines through in Hat Trick Hero. Visually, the game looks boring, dated and generic, and each spin is accompanied by a rather horrible spin sound (can luckily be turned off). Don’t even get us started on whatever the soundtrack is supposed to be, as this game is best played with no sound at all.

In fact, anyone but the most hardcore football fans should avoid Hat Trick Hero like the plague, as things hardly get better in the math model or feature department. It’s all about triggering walking wild respins, in which you might land the 1,000x cash prize. A hat trick is normally 3 goals in a row, but you need to score 15 in a row here. We’ll walk you through all the details below.

Hat Trick Hero slot Features

The power shot wild is a foot hitting the ball, and steps in for all regular pay symbols. The symbol serves as an ordinary wild whenever you land 1 or 2 at the same time. If you land 3 power shot wilds however, you’ll trigger the Hat Trick Hero feature.

The triggering wilds turn into speeding football walking wilds during the Hat Trick Hero Respin feature. They move one step to the left per respin, and you get new free respins as long as there are power shot wilds present on the reels. If you land new power shot wilds during the respins feature, these become walking wilds too.

When the football walking wilds exit the reels on the far left, they hit the back of the net of the open goal below the Score Meter. If you manage to score 15 goals (i.e. land 15 walking wilds) in one session, you win the 1,000x instant cash prize from the score meter.

The 200 Spins Hat Trick Hero slot Experience

Whenever we get a new football slot on our proverbial desk, we always brace ourselves for another disappointment. We would really love to see a soccer slot that blew our socks off, but they are hard to come by. We had an okay time testing Hat Trick Hero, but it’s not a game we will return to any time soon.

Review Summary

As much as we love football, the ever-popular game seldom translates to very good video slots. Betsoft has tried to make a somewhat engaging walking wild respins feature, but speeding balls that walk in slow motion across the reels just look ridiculous. There are plenty of ways to make a feature like this look cool though, but it’s clear that Betsoft has not put a lot of thought into this game at all.

Without a regular bonus round, it’s all about scoring 15 goals in a single Respins session. This happened once every 21,299 triggers during testing. The 1,000x jackpot is hardly worth your while anyway, and the overall 1,260x max win is lousy for a highly volatile game. Football fanatics might get a kick out of this for a while, but to us it’s another disappointing football slot thrown on the pile.

If you appreciate Hat Trick Hero slot you should also try:

Football: Champions Cup - is a pretty decent football slot from NetEnt, and it comes with an engaging penalty shootout bonus game where you win cash prizes for scoring goals. The bonus round plays out as a tournament, where you take on other teams, and this is one to try for football lovers.

Football Star Deluxe - is a Stormcraft creation, and follow-up to the regular Football Star slot. You’ll benefit from rolling reels and random wilds, and the bonus round comes with a progressive win multiplier up to 8x. The wild stack grows per free spin, and you can win up to 3,200x your stake.

Football Cash Pots - is a football release from Inspired Gaming, and it’s all about the hold & respin cash collect feature. This is a classic streak respins feature where cash footballs become sticky as the reels respin, and you can win up to 4,166x your stake.
