Meanwhile, the maximum potential is honestly low at 1458x of the bet, however, it can be justified by the light math model.

As we head over to the paytable, we see a bunch of regular symbols, split into highs and lows. There are 8 of them in total, with shiny gems of various shapes and colors on the lower side, and different animal idols making up the premiums. Scoring a win requires matching at least 3 instances of the same symbol on a single payline, while full combos are achieved by landing 5. Oddly enough, neither Wilds nor Scatters and Free Spins are to be found here. Frog Fortunes is focused around Exploding Symbols, which play a central role in the gameplay.

Blast Patterns

Exploding bomb symbols can appear anywhere on the grid on any spin, and whenever they do, they explode with a random Blast Pattern, affecting either one or more symbols on adjacent reels. There are 8 different Blast Patterns, which are chosen randomly for each bomb. Before the bomb explodes, any possible win combos pay. When the Exploding Symbols blow up, they transform themselves as well as all other symbols within the chosen Blast Pattern into the same randomly chosen regular symbol, and then new win combos pay.

In case there are new winning combos after the explosion, the Cascading Wins feature comes into play. It removes all winning symbols from the grid to allow new ones to tumble down onto the reels and fill empty spaces. The feature keeps working until no new win combos are available, allowing players to land chains of consecutive wins.

By the way, Exploding Symbols cannot appear during the Cascade sequence, so they're only available to land at the beginning of the spin. Another major oddity is that the Cascading Wins feature occurs only after bomb explosions and is not available during spins, where bombs didn't manage to land, no matter if there are any wins.

Frog Fortunes - Slot Verdict

While the first impression was pleasing and promising, Frog Fortunes ended up delivering a bizarre slot experience. RTG did a nice job of designing and provided a lovely look and ambiance, however, the same cannot be said about the feature set that leaves much to be desired.

Why don't they make the Cascades available on any spin? Why don't those Exploding Symbols appear after the Cascades? We'll never probably figure out why. As for the math model, a particular interlayer of players will surely appreciate it. After all, not all slot enthusiasts are keen on chasing jackpots, and Frog Fortunes is definitely a slot to chill and depart from intense casino gaming.
