This is a game that will immediately grab your attention, not only due to the excellent war theater audiovisuals, but also because of the computer game elements. Cash of Command is close to a masterpiece of a grid slot from Play’n Go, but the gemstone symbols seem a bit out of place in a naval warzone. It’s a minor detail however, and the rest of the presentation makes up for it in spades.

Cash of Command is all about collecting winning symbols to unleash Naval Hero modifiers, and these come in the form of warships and submarines that attack the grid in different ways. Land-based turrets can pepper the grid with wilds at random times as well, and the big climax is the enhanced super modifier. It triggers after an air raid has bombed 2 of the 3 ships, when the Naval Hero Meter is filled.

You win by landing 5 to 50+ matching symbols in clusters anywhere on the 9x9 grid, and the premium symbols pay 100 to 5,000 x your stake for 50+ in a cluster. Winning symbols are removed via the Cascading mechanic, and this process repeats indefinitely as long as you keep winning.

You’ll see 2 turrets on either side of the grid, and these Baron’s Turrets become active at random times on non-winning spins only. They will then fire onto random positions on the grid, and turn all positions they hit into wild symbols. Wilds step in for pay symbols to help complete wins, and this may trigger a cascading sequence.

Winning symbols are not only removed, they are also collected in the Naval Heroes Meter seen on the left. The meter comes with 4 tiers represented by different characters, and you reach these tiers by collecting 15, 40, 70 or 110 winning symbols in the same cascading sequence, respectively. The first 3 levels trigger unique ship or submarine modifiers at the end of cascading sequences as follows:

• Tier 1 (Commander Wilder) - adds random wilds to the grid.
• Tier 2 (Captain Verto) - turns 2 random symbol types into the same symbol type.
• Tier 3 (Admiral Magna) - places 4 mega symbols (size 2x2) onto the grid.

The top-tier Baron Fusco feature triggers when you’ve collected at least 110 winning symbols in a single cascading sequence. You’ll then see 2 of the 3 present sea vessels being bombed by an air raid, and the remaining warship or submarine is turned into an enhanced super version of itself. Depending on which ship that remains, you get the following enhanced modifier:

• Super Commander Wilder - adds even more wilds to the grid.
• Super Captain Verto - turns 3 symbol types into the same symbol type.
• Super Admiral Maga - awards 4 mega symbols up to size 4x4 on the grid.

It’s releases like this that deservingly has earned Play’n Go the nickname “master of grid slots”, and Cash of Command is bound to make a huge splash in the community. The computer game elements are masterfully incorporated into the gameplay, and everything is accompanied by a Ride of the Valkyries-like soundtrack. This release has epic written all over it in other words, and it was hard to put down to get other things done.

The turrets fire wilds onto the grid on a regular basis, and filling the modifier meter didn’t seem all that hard either. Each of the naval characters salute you as their respective feature is activated, and it all builds up to a grand finale when you reach the top Baron Fusco tier. This is a top notch release through and through, and a showcase of what Play’n Go is capable of despite their busy schedule.
