Whenever we see the word Bonanza in the title we automatically assume we’ll be dealing with some kind of Sweet Bonanza copycat, and not least when the theme is related as well. This is hardly the case with Bakery Bonanza, however, so PG Soft took us by surprise with this one. You get plenty of cakes and sweet stuff on the reels for sure, but the Multiplier Reel they have come up with in this release is quite unique and potentially highly lucrative.

It adds tension to each Cascading sequence, as things can escalate quickly out of the blue when luck is on your side. Each win from the bottom sliding reel adds to the total cascading sequence win multiplier, and the multiplier doesn't reset between free spins in the bonus round. This is a good example of how a “simple twist” can make a huge difference, and you can win up to a solid 12,190x your stake. You win by landing matching symbols on adjacent reels from the uttermost left to the right. The number of matching symbols per reel are multiplied together, and the sum of this is then multiplied by the relevant paytable value to calculate the win.

Larger symbols up to size 1x4 all represent a single symbol during win calculations, which gives you a dynamic grid experience with up to 32,400 bet ways, and you can land Wild symbols on reels 2 to 6. Wilds step in for pay symbols to help complete and/or improve wins, like wilds usually do.

PG Soft has a knack for making small changes to their “standard” blueprint, and somehow these small changes make a big impact and make each game come across as unique. We believe other developers, and especially Megaways developers, have something to learn from this mobile-friendly and crafty studio. Bakery Bonanza doesn’t seem all that exciting at first glance, but once you get going this game will take you by surprise.

They could’ve easily made some kind of Sweet Bonanza inspired copycat release, which we “feared” at first, but PG Soft has instead created something unique. The Multiplier Reel steals the show in this game, and it’s a great innovation that adds value to the often somewhat “tame” top or bottom sliding reel. It’s capable of building up solid win multipliers in all stages, and not least when it never resets in the bonus round. The 12,190x potential is solid as well, and we have no trouble recommending this release to pretty much anyone (except those who’re on a diet).
