With 7's Luck, developer Red Tiger once again delves into the Irish genre, but this isn’t your usual fare through the land of rainbows, leprechauns, and bottomless pots of gold. Well, almost. In fact, the game takes elements from different popular mechanics and blends together, resulting in an experience that feels both familiar and fresh at the same time.

Once you load in, the 7's Luck slot machine takes you to a conventional 5x3 reel set, with 20 fixed paylines in play. Wins are formed on adjacent reels starting from the leftmost side, with payouts awarded for three-of-a-kind or more. Betting options would definitely suit casual players, with options starting from as little as €0.10 per spin. Theme & Graphics

Just like the gameplay, the presentation in 7's Luck is also a mix of genres. The reels are surrounded by the usual Irish four-leaf clovers and piles of gold coins, while the contents of the reels themselves belong more to the classic fruit slot theme, incorporating bells, lucky sevens, and a variety of fruit. As always, Red Tiger slots look superb – with sharp graphics and outstanding animation. Nothing to complain about in regard to production values.

Pros And Cons Of 7's Luck Slot

Our Verdict

I genuinely like the idea Red Tiger implemented here. Sure, if we look at each feature separately, there’s nothing new – we’ve seen scatter jackpots, we’ve seen hold and win, and stacked Wild reels are nothing groundbreaking either. But the way all of this comes together is what makes 7’s Luck interesting. In the base game, you’re basically spinning a classic fruit slot infused with stacked symbols and multiplier reels, and once the bonus triggers, the game flips completely, introducing totally different mechanics, or rather two at once. That’s not something we come across every day, and I actually found it quite fun.

That said, there are some drawbacks. I’m not a huge fan of how the scatter prizes are structured. You need at least 12 scatters to score a decent win, and hitting that many is quite a challenge. In comparison, pioneers of the genre, 9 Pots of Gold or 9 Masks of Fire by Gameburger Studios, pay out jackpots from as few as 3 symbols, with the max prize awarded at 9. Here, you have to fill the entire screen with scatters to get the top prize – and these jackpots are locked to the bonus round only, so you won’t see them in the base game at all.

Still, I liked the general concept and found the mix refreshing. There’s nothing innovative going on, but the way Red Tiger blended familiar mechanics and themes gives 7’s Luck a certain charm.
