Tumble Feature

The Tumble feature kicks in after each win, removing all winning symbols and making the existing symbols drop down to fill the gaps. The gaps on top are then refilled by a new batch of symbols, and the process repeats as long as you keep winning. There is no limit to the number of tumbles you can get per round, allowing for indefinite winning streaks.

Pros and Cons of Sweet Burst

Our Verdict

Pragmatic Play is always eager to capitalize on previous success releases, and apparently, this extends to their partner studio, Fat Panda, as well. With Sweet Burst, Fat Panda has basically taken the DNA from Pragmatic Play’s smash hit Sweet Bonanza 1000, and fitted it into their signature mobile-first design. The 3x5 layout is a tad unusual, and obviously smaller than what you get in the source of inspiration.

It’s refreshing that we don’t have to visit yet another sugar-laden candy world, though, as Sweet Burst instead plays out in a factory setting. Not a super original theme, perhaps, but it could’ve been worse. The minimalist soundtrack may fit the theme with its bubblegum machine tune, but I still had to turn it off after a while because it became too annoying. I normally like retro 8-bit soundtracks in slot games, but this one gave me sore ears with its shrill high pitches.

It’s hard to argue with success, but I still feel that Sweet Burst would’ve been a better game if there had been more going on in the base game. Sure, the scatter pay tumble wins recipe is tried and tested in popular slots from Pragmatic Play, but why not take this opportunity to improve or add to it? Instead, Sweet Burst is basically a more compact mobile-first version of Sweet Bonanza 1000, but with a far lower potential of “only” 5,000x compared to 25,000x.

Both are highly volatile games, but you get plenty of top-up wins in the Sweet Burst slot. The base game awards lengthy tumble sequences regularly, but you obviously need the multiplier symbols in the bonus round to truly make a dent in this game. The Sweet Burst bonus round hit frequency of 1 in 215 spins is sliced in half compared to what’s on offer in Sweet Bonanza 1000, which may compel some players to give this one a try.
