Pragmatic Play has plenty of smash hits by now, but they also release so many new slots each month that the occasional oddball is to be expected. If you’re going to break the mold and release a game with a massive win potential of 50,000x, why choose to do so with a somewhat obscure and quirky game like Super Tiki Strike? It might be to compensate for the fact that this is a rather mediocre game, but in my view, it’s better to reserve massive win caps for bigger releases.

Looks can certainly deceive in the world of online slots, something that’s very true for Super Tiki Strike. At first glance, it comes across as a retro, low-stakes classic fruit slot you may play while waiting for the bus, but that’s pretty far from what it actually is. The volatility can be more brutal than you may think, and the base game is pretty much a stroll on the beach without much to show for it. Regular line wins are few and far between, and you’ll get tired of the volcano eating those torch flames pretty quickly.

Pragmatic Play should have allowed players to click that animation away instead of forcing us to wait for it to play out each time. And while we are at it, setting the default bet level to $2 in each game is pretty optimistic. Most players are penny punters after all, and having $1 as the default level makes more sense. It’s also a bit strange that you cannot collect money symbols in the base game without also triggering the hold & win Respins bonus round.

The Respins feature triggers fairly frequently, which is good, but like we said above, don’t expect much in terms of top-up wins between the bonus rounds. The increasing position multipliers can wreak havoc on a good day, and your pulse will rise with the multiplier levels you achieve.
